“蓝色时分”的隐喻与结构资源的再激活：设计巧妙地借用“蓝色时分”（Blue Hour）这一自然光过渡时段作为转型与变革的隐喻，完美契合了废弃公园向未来公共空间发展的阶段性。建筑师没有推倒重来，而是将现存的Mero-Halle结构视为宝贵资源，通过加固支撑系统并施以标志性的“龙胆蓝”防腐涂层，实现了对现有工业遗存的尊重与艺术化提升。这种利用既有节点和投影的再利用策略，体现了可持续性的设计思维和对历史肌理的深刻理解。

光影、边界与自然渗透的动态张力：设计通过多层次的干预手法，在空间内部构建了丰富的体验层次。局部顶篷的设计不仅提供物理庇护，更重要的是调节了天空的视景，玩转光影效果；室内帘布元素模糊了内外部的界限，使人与环境的关系变得主题化。地面铺装中的管井被用作植栽的容器，促成了构筑物与自然元素的融合。这种动态的张力，最终构建了一个包容多功能使用的、促进新型相遇可能性的“潜在聚集空间”。

This is actually no longer architecture, but a park taking place in the fragments of architecture. And it behaves as such – it is without a center, it is open, it can be a few scattered people sitting on a bench enjoying the ease, or it can become bustling. In the sense of an art study, this is an experiment, a test that allows this space to exist permanently. Its particular pleasure lies in the fact that there are no imposed functional constraints here, and you can completely engage with the site.”

The Spreepark Berlin has a winding history and will return in the coming years as a green open space for all citizens. It originally opened as East Germany's only amusement park in the north of Plänterwald, was renovated after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and then lay fallow for decades after the operator became insolvent.

As part of an art research project, Modulorbeat was commissioned to develop the potential of the former fast-food restaurant and event hall "Mero-Halle" at Spreepark. In the process, the "blue hour" became a metaphor for transformation and change. The "blue hour" refers to the twilight in the evening and morning when natural light causes a change in the perception of the surroundings. The transition from day to night and from night to day corresponds to the transition from an abandoned park to future public use.

The design uses the existing Mero hall as a starting point and resource to develop a new hybrid site. As part of the park's safety measures, the existing support structures and the eponymous "MERO" nodes are reinforced and supplemented with a blue preservative coating: a bright gentian blue, a color rarely found in nature. The structure and projections above are utilized in the hall's renovation and can be rediscovered in the installation elements. Benches invite people to linger, watch, and listen. Partial canopies not only provide protection from rain or heat but also change the view of the sky, playing with light and shadow.

At the same time, curtain elements create separate areas inside the hall as if they were indoors, thematizing the boundary between inside and outside. The manholes and openings in the existing ground paving are used to accommodate plants, creating a fusion of structure and nature. These interventions create a spatial framework that accommodates a variety of uses and initiates a dialogue between space and use. The "blue hour" is a potential gathering space that enables new forms of encounter. The initially temporary installation is now becoming a permanent component of the new Spreepark after a successful trial run.
