The restaurant "Aster," named after the Greek word for "star," derives a noble and elegant atmosphere for the space from the star-shaped inflorescence and its unique purple hue. The design employs a technique of "center—radiation—layering" to transform geometric logic into a perceptible spatial ambiance, creating an immersive experience of gathering at the flower's heart and dining under starlight.

The British head chef Joshua Paris has 19 years of culinary experience, having worked with renowned chefs such as Richard Ekkebus and Paul Pairet, and is deeply influenced by the culinary philosophy of "extremity, precision, and no compromise." He insists on constantly questioning "why," refining every dish to perfection, a spirit that is also the soul of Aster.

The space unfolds through five models:

1. Flower Center (Huanxin)

The central circular bar and open kitchen form an integrated system of "front stage—back kitchen—performance." The bar serves as both a social hub and a culinary stage, with surrounding seating allowing guests to closely participate in the cooking process. The curved light strip along the lower edge of the bar glows faintly like the stamen, creating an internal and external complementary light field with the overhead installation and the art glass window of the mezzanine. The bar and kitchen base feature a hand-sculpted "rock surface" texture, using a tactile quality to echo the concept of "root nature" and the sedimentation of time.

2. Flower Crown (Huaguan)

The overhead installation consists of 39 rotatable modular units, each rotated by 15° to form a spiral radial structure. Each unit supports stained Xuan paper leaves, presenting a semi-transparent purple layered effect. At night, peripheral spotlights sweep from the outside in, side lighting outlines the leaf edges, and backlighting illuminates the fibers, rendering the crown as a floating nebula. The modular design balances ease of maintenance with sustainable renewability.

3. Inflorescence (Huaxu)

The pendant lights along the windows are aligned corresponding to the concrete beams, forming a sequence of light extending outward. The lighting fixture, composed of overlapping rings and vertical elements, creates a rhythmic variation through subtle height differences. Downlights are coaxially embedded at the bottom, serving both ambiance creation and functional task lighting for the tables.

4. Calyx and Root (Hua’e Yu Gen)

Structural concrete is juxtaposed with oak and stone, creating a dialogue between roughness and warmth. The herringbone oak floor extends outward like root systems. Hand-sculpted "rock surface" clay is used for the bar and base, using tactile narrative to echo the concept: "The flower above grows from the soil." Rounded furniture softens the boundaries, allowing the body to feel warmth and embrace amidst the wood and stone.

5. Constellation | VIP (Xingzuo|VIP)

The mezzanine adopts an off-axis layout to create a sense of stability, with walnut wood and velvet covering the lounge area. A bronze-colored mirrored ceiling stretches the verticality, and abstract leaf patterns balance structural logic with visual order. In the private room, the "Stardust" installation connects smoky purple leaves into a star cluster; its slightly off-center design leaves the focus on table communication. Materials transition from hard to soft, with stone and wood gradually giving way to textiles and upholstery, gently embracing every point of bodily contact.
