From the street view, the concrete columns appear slender in profile, supporting the concrete facade above and demarcating the entrances to the retail units. Expansive, transparent planes interspersed intermittently with glass panels attract passersby, maximizing the advantage of the street frontage.
On the second floor, a protective concrete facade wraps the entire structure, preserving privacy and creating a strong visual impact, serving as an acoustic barrier to the street and providing users with an excellent architectural shell.

Floor Plans
As a skin clinic requiring a significant amount of soft, natural light for patient examinations and treatments, the architects analyzed this primary function and highlighted the importance of light modulation in the various procedures on the second floor.

The design revolves around various ways of introducing natural light into the space while minimizing direct sun exposure and glare. Tall clerestory walls illuminate the light timber ceilings, and cutout balconies at the corners softly light the corridor spaces. Strategically placed skylights, along with a central light well extending through the two high levels, bring light down into the parking area.

The building's internal core features a multi-level light well that allows sunlight to penetrate through the core all the way down to the parking area, transforming the initial experience of visitors upon entering the building.
The light well radiates light to the adjacent spaces in all directions, embodying the spirit of nature and health that the clinic represents. Furthermore, the light well opens up to the sky, where tall vegetation acts as green columns, infusing the building's interior life with vitality.

The top floor of the building features a series of light-filled spaces defined by a system of timber beams. This timber beam system also provides acoustic separation between rooms. This grid system resolves many of the building’s functional requirements. It functions as a roof structure, enabling large spans and uninterrupted floor plates. Additionally, it creates a sense of intimacy through a 7-foot threshold, a feeling experienced whenever passing under the 'egg-nest' structure. The grid also provides a surface for diffusing light through natural materials, creating a warm and serene glow.

Since most treatment time is spent on extended examination chairs, the patient's viewpoint is often directed towards the ceiling. Replacing the omnipresent acoustic tiles in the ceiling structure and patient experience was key to altering the consultation experience.

The curve of the timber ceiling not only draws natural light in from the roof edge but is also visible from adjacent views as an iconic facade. The timber ceiling elegantly curves out of sight, without obstructing the private spaces hidden behind it. Moreover, the high, latticed ceiling combines with mechanical systems and natural air convection to ensure that warm air remains in the ceiling plenum. Air conditioning discharge circulates in the lower 7 feet of the space occupied by patients and staff to promote alertness and wakefulness. The combination of structure and light creates an intuitive internal circulation for users, leading visitors into a high-ceilinged, light-filled environment.
