结构语汇与体量消解:该项目通过连续的圆拱结构,巧妙地将庞大体量的体育建筑“化整为零”,实现了对校园环境的友善回应。7个重复的弧形元素如同花朵般编织在一起,赋予建筑轻盈与活力,打破了传统体育馆的笨重感。结构与表皮的统一性处理,使屋顶和墙体融为一体,这种对结构语汇的纯粹表达,是建筑师对场所精神和工程逻辑的深刻理解与提炼。

空间体验与材料的纯粹性:建筑内部,曲面结构营造出富有节奏感的空间序列,水、运动、光影与混凝土的灰蓝对比,极大地增强了场所的张力与感知深度。设计坚持材料的本真状态,混凝土拱顶未加修饰,体现了结构即装饰的理念。这种对“真实状态”的追求,不仅简化了后期的维护成本,更在朴实无华中蕴含了对建筑本质的思考,避免了不必要的繁复装饰。

结构性能与建造的“反潮流”智慧:在技术层面,设计选择了现浇混凝土曲面拱,以应对40米大跨度和游泳馆的潮湿环境,有效解决了钢结构在跨度和防腐蚀方面的挑战。尽管现浇曲面拱的施工方式(需要大量模板和脚手架)被视为“反工业化”,但这种“不装配化”的建造过程,正是确保结构精准性和材料真实性的必要手段。外立面采用耐用的红色陶板干挂,以现代工艺重塑传统质感,平衡了整体的厚重感与可持续性要求。

The natatorium is located near the East Gate of the Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University, north of the Jiulonghu Gymnasium, and it is the first indoor swimming venue in the history of Southeast University.
游泳馆位于东南大学九龙湖校区的东门附近,在九龙湖体育馆的北侧,也是东南大学史上第一座室内游泳场馆。

Considering that the Jiulonghu Campus is relatively open and sports buildings often have huge volumes and scales, the design adopts continuous circular arches to break down the mass into smaller parts, thereby dissolving the sense of alienation caused by the volume. The curved shape of the building is like a flower, woven together by 7 repeating forms, which makes it look very lively. Furthermore, this building does not have a substantial "roof"; its roof and walls are treated as a whole.
考虑到九龙湖校区比较空旷,体育建筑又往往体量和尺度巨大,所以设计采用连续的圆拱将本体化整为零,以此消解体量的疏离感。建筑的弧形像花朵一样,用7个重复的形式编织在一起,是它看起来很活泼。此外,这个建筑没有实质性的“屋顶”,它的屋面和墙面作为一个整体。

The interior space of the swimming pool is formed by multiple curved surfaces, creating a sense of rhythm in the space. The contrast between the flowing water, moving people, and static architecture, the gray of the concrete and the blue of the water surface, and the sunlight refracted by the louvers and the shadows formed by the building's geometry, stimulates a strong sense of place. The cast-in-place concrete arched structure meets the mechanical requirements, and the facade uses large-area glass curtain walls, forming an interaction between the behavior and sightlines of people inside and outside the building.
游泳馆的内部空间由多个曲面形成了空间的节奏感,流动的水、运动的人与静态的建筑,混凝土的灰色与水面的蓝色,百叶折射下的阳光与建筑几何形成的阴影,这些对比激发出一种强烈的场所感。混凝土浇筑的拱状结构符合力学上的需求,立面采用了大面积玻璃落地,建筑内外的人的行为和视线形成了交互。

Space Organization
The primary function of the Southeast University Natatorium is to provide a swimming and training facility for the campus. The plan is rectangular, with a standard pool size of 20*50 meters. Water circulation equipment and mechanical rooms are located underground. The internal spatial organization of the swimming pool follows the conventional method for sports venues: the first floor houses changing rooms and the pool, while the second floor contains a gym and classrooms.

东南大学游泳馆的首要功能是为校园提供一个游泳和训练的健身场地,平面为长方形,泳池为20*50米的标准尺寸,水循环设备和机械间设置在地下。游泳馆内部空间的组织遵循了常规体育馆的方式,一层为更衣间和泳池,二层为健身房和教室。

Difficulties
During the construction process, the swimming pool adopted the cast-in-place concrete method, which required a large number of manually pre-fabricated formworks. Then, scaffolding filled the entire site, reaching over ten meters in height and occupying the 120*40 meter area. In fact, casting such curved arches in the air is a counter-trend and anti-industrialized architectural behavior. Each concrete arch meets at a single point upon landing, and the excess parts are "sheared" off, forming a natural arch soffit. This approach cannot be achieved through prefabrication.
困难
在建造过程中,游泳馆采用了现浇混凝土方式,需要大量人工预制模板,然后脚手架搭满了整个场地,高度达十多米,占满了120*40米的场地范围。其实,在空中浇筑这样曲面的拱其实是反潮流、反工业化的建筑行为。每个混凝土的拱在落地的时候都会交于一点,多余的部分被“剪切”掉,形成了自然的拱底,这种做法是无法通过装配化完成的。

Construction Technology
In the design of this swimming pool, formed by 7 continuous curved concrete arches, two main problems were addressed: span and humidity. If steel structure were adopted, a 40-meter span would require a 2-meter high beam. However, using concrete for curved arches can perfectly satisfy the structural requirements. In addition, the moisture from the pool will continuously corrode metal components, but concrete is impervious to water. There are no light fixtures installed on the ceiling of the swimming pool; they are all placed on the sides. The concrete surface is not painted or decorated in any way, revealing the most authentic state of the structure and material. The building envelope uses red ceramic roof tiles hung dry, fired at high temperatures of 1200 degrees Celsius using modern technology. These ceramic tiles are guaranteed not to need replacement for 150 years, achieving sustainability. The scale of the ceramic tiles is similar to that of bricks, laid in an overlapping pattern; this handcrafted effect contrasts with the huge dimensions of the concrete. All materials retain their original color without artificial added decoration, making the structure the building, and the building the structure itself. Therefore, authentic construction saves a lot of later maintenance costs. We believe that good architectural design does not necessarily create expensive buildings, nor does it have to be magnificent; it should be a very simple and true natural state.
建造技术
在这个采用了7个连续混凝土曲面拱形成的游泳馆设计中,主要解决两个问题:一个是跨度,另一个是湿度。设计如果采用钢结构,40米跨度需要2米高的梁。而用混凝土做曲面的拱,就能很好地满足自身的结构要求。另外,游泳池的湿气会长期腐蚀金属构件,但是混凝土不怕水。游泳馆的天花上没有设置灯具,它们全部安装在两侧,混凝土表面也没有涂料粉刷和其他装饰,为呈现结构和材料最真实的状态。所有材料都保留了本色,没有人工增添的装饰,使结构就是建筑,建筑就是结构本身。因此,真实的建造会省去很多后期维护的费用。我们认为,好的建筑设计不一定创造出昂贵的建筑,也不一定是雄伟的建筑,它本应该是一种很朴实很真实的自然状态。
