The planar layout of this project is determined by the wind direction and the trajectory of the sun. The water park backs onto the forest to avoid the cold northeast winds in winter, and opens to the west to fully utilize the cool breezes in warm weather. Facing southwest, the water park is bathed in sunshine all year round. Its orientation is designed to receive maximum sunlight in winter, while the terrace design avoids excessive sun exposure in summer.

This water park design resembles a piece of origami sculpture, presenting an unfolded landscape that finally reaches a height of approximately 35 meters: it is a landscape architecture rising from the ground, pointing straight to the sky. This structure is visible from the surrounding area—it has become a landmark and symbol of Villages Nature. This new type of landmark contrasts with the relatively flat terrain. It is not an element imposed on the landscape, but an extension of the landscape itself.

Situated next to a vast body of water, the water park appears as a world emerging from the lake. It is an aerial architecture, where layered sky gardens, playful water flows, and transparent spaces intertwine. The terraces are open to pedestrians and are used to oxygenate the lake water. This new landscape is composed of waterfalls, mist, steam, and aquatic plants. The design blurs the boundaries between landscape and built environment, becoming a unique beacon visible from all parts of the Nature Village. Day or night, the water park becomes a major architectural landmark in the area.

The origami structure is open to the public, extending the aquatic facilities: the design offers visitors exploring this architectural landscape a novel experience. The structure provides excellent viewpoints to observe the interior of the water park, as well as magnificent views of the Nature Village and the wider landscape. A loop path encircles the building, extending the boardwalk stroll. An elevator offers the opportunity to climb to the top of the walkway for the best views.

As the origami unfolds, it creates voids. These spaces are filled with large glass panels, allowing natural light to penetrate the aquatic center, giving visitors a continuous feeling of indoor-outdoor space. At the top of the building, a uniquely shaped transparent dome allows visitors to look up at the sky while swimming. This dome defines the silhouette of the water park. The structure and roof design are optimized to appear almost invisible when viewed from the pools, further emphasizing the presence of the sky. The water park is bathed in abundant light. The building’s orientation, reflected light and shadow, and the scattering of natural light further soften and enhance this lighting effect. At the water level, the indoor and outdoor spaces achieve complete continuity—swimmers can move in and out without obstruction.

All elements of the project combine to create a festive atmosphere, enhancing the experience of the water park activities. The extraordinary ecosystem formed by the planted terraces creates an educational path. Various elements related to environmental sustainability—geothermal energy, water recycling—form a coherent narrative structure that runs through the entire project for public interpretation.

The design principles of the project cumulatively extend the water park to sunbathing areas, terraces, and restaurants... these activities can easily integrate with seasonal variations in visitor flow. In the evenings and at different times of the day, a concert barge arrives to host concerts and performances. The water park becomes an extraordinary backdrop for performances, fireworks, and light shows on the Nature Village lake.

The entrance to the water park connects to a large square, around which the different “public” spaces of the Nature Village are organized: a forum, a sports center. The lobby opens onto the lake, leading through a long corridor and service spaces (machine rooms, storage, etc.) to the changing rooms. After passing through the changing areas, visitors discover that the interior space of the water park is designed as a vast expanse of water dotted with islands of varying sizes and functions. This archipelago layout extends outdoors, blending into the lagoon, further emphasizing the continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. The air pavilion connects the other two pavilions. It is set back from the edge of the lagoon, creating a protected space.
水上乐园的入口与一个大广场相连，自然村的不同“公共”空间围绕这个广场布置：一个论坛、一个体育中心。大厅面向湖泊敞开，通过一条长廊和服务空间（机房、储藏室等）通向更衣室。游客穿过更衣室区域后，会发现水上乐园的内部空间设计成一片广阔的水域，散布着大小不一、功能各异的岛屿。这个群岛式布局延伸至室外，融入泻湖之中，进一步强调了室内外空间的连续性。空气亭连接了其他两个亭子。它退离泻湖边缘，创造了一个受保护的空间。
