材质的哲学对话与东京精神的提炼:设计团队精准捕捉了东京城市气质中“活力与宁静并存”的二元性,并通过材质的精心选择与处理实现了这种对话。利用两种不同处理痕迹的混凝土,设计师在“光滑的工业完成面”与“保留工匠肌理的原始结构面”之间建立了张力。特别是对保留了模板印记的混凝土的青睐,反映了一种对真实性、过程感和时间印记的尊重,这与木材的自然纹理共同构建了当代东京背景下的材质美学。

材料的循环利用与痕迹美学的升华:本项目将建筑工艺流程中的“副产品”——混凝土模板提升为设计语言的核心元素。通过使用经“表千代”处理的红雪松模板浇筑混凝土,成功地将木材的自然纹理转印到墙面上,实现了材料的“借用”与“转译”。更进一步,将使用过的模板回收制作家具,形成了从“模板-铸模-成品-家具”的完整循环叙事,极大地强化了空间中对“匠造精神”(Craftsmanship)的强调和场所记忆的连续性。

From the architect. Le Labo Daikanyama store is its first shop outside the United States and its first renovation in 18 years. This is the second collaboration between Jo Nagasaka / Schemata Architects and the brand, following the Kyoto Machiya project. The renovation is guided by the brand's desire to highlight the fresh fragrance compounding process in the spatial design while ensuring the boutique perfectly integrates into the streetscape of Tokyo.
来自建筑师。Le Labo 代官山精品店是其在美国以外的首个门店,时隔18年后首次进行翻新,是继京都町屋项目后长坂常 / Schemata Architects 与该品牌的第二次合作。此次翻新以品牌期望将新鲜香氛调配工艺在空间设计中凸显为核心导向,同时确保该精品店能完美融入东京的街景风貌。

Firstly, the design team positioned the fragrance laboratory as the focal point. By relocating the laboratory, originally at the rear of the shop, to the front, the fragrance compounding process becomes clearly visible from the street, attracting passersby to step inside and explore. In terms of incorporating Tokyo elements into the store, Le Labo proposed using wood and concrete, noting that a significant characteristic of the city lies in the fusion of two opposing forces: vibrant energy coexisting with profound tranquility.
首先,设计团队将香氛实验室定位为焦点区域。通过把原本位于店铺后方的实验室迁移至前方,香氛调配的过程从街道上便可一目了然,吸引路人进店一探究竟。在将东京元素融入店铺方面,Le Labo 提议采用木材和混凝土作为材料,并指出这座城市的显著特征在于两股对立力量的交融:蓬勃的活力与深邃的宁静并存。

During the site investigation, two distinctly different types of concrete were discovered within the existing building structure. One was reinforced concrete used as a visible exterior finish, cast using formwork, resulting in a smooth surface with a characteristic Showa-era "industrial texture" that concealed the manual labor and creative process. The other was the reinforced concrete structure itself, cast purely to meet necessary structural requirements, which was originally planned to be covered with other finishes. On this type of concrete, the marks of the formwork material are clearly visible, still bearing the traces of the craftsman's hand. It presents an unadorned charm, where the texture of the reinforced concrete material is naturally revealed.
经现场勘查,在现有建筑结构中发现两种截然不同的混凝土类型。一种是作为可见外饰面使用的钢筋混凝土,采用建筑模板浇筑而成,表面光滑,带有昭和时代特有的“工业质感”,这种质感掩盖了人工劳作及其创作过程。另一种则是纯粹为满足必要结构要求而浇筑的钢筋混凝土结构本身,原本计划用其他饰面覆盖。在这类混凝土上,模板材料的痕迹清晰可见,仍留有人工匠心的痕迹。它呈现出一种质朴无华的魅力,钢筋混凝土材料的肌理自然地展现出来。

The design team was attracted to the straightforward simplicity exhibited by the latter, wishing to retain the naturally formed traces of the production process on the concrete surfaces. To achieve this, the design utilized precast panels made by casting concrete against formwork made from Japanese cedar treated with the "Uzukuri" technique (a planing process that emphasizes wood grain). The wood grain was transferred onto the panel surfaces, which were then used as walls. Furthermore, the template wood itself was reused to create furniture, integrating material recycling and the traces of craftsmanship into the space. The connection between the template wood and the concrete elements reflects Tokyo's character, forming a distinct contrast through the texture of the wood grain.
设计团队被后者所展现的直白质朴所吸引,希望在混凝土表面保留生产过程中自然形成的痕迹。为此,设计采用经“表千代”(Uzukuri,一种凸显木纹的刨削工艺)处理过的红雪松来制作模板。将混凝土浇筑进强调木材天然凹凸纹理的模板中,制作出预制面板,木纹被转印到面板表面,随后将其用作墙面。此外,模板木材本身还被重新利用制成家具,让材料的循环利用与匠造痕迹融入空间之中。模板木材与混凝土元素之间的关联,体现了东京特色,通过木纹肌理形成鲜明对比。

Moreover, elements such as the ceiling lighting coves, the existing formwork imprints in the structure, and pipe trenches were not concealed but actively integrated into the overall design. This space frankly embraces the marks accumulated by the building over time and transmits them into the new space. Thus, the interaction between concrete and wood runs throughout the space, creating a contemporary Tokyo environment while showcasing the spirit of craftsmanship valued by Le Labo.
此外,天花板照明凹槽、现有结构中留存的模板印记以及管道沟槽等,均未加以遮掩,而是被积极融入整体设计之中。这个空间坦诚地接纳了这座建筑历经岁月沉淀的痕迹,并将其传递至新的空间之中。由此,混凝土与木材的互动贯穿整个空间,在营造当代东京环境的同时,彰显出 Le Labo 所珍视的匠造精神。
