The new community swimming pool in Champaret, Bourgoin-Jallieu, is intended to replace the dilapidated Tournesol swimming pool. One of the main stakes, besides maintaining a facility located in the heart of the city's political district, also includes better serving the eastern part of the territory to allow more residents to benefit from its convenience.

General layout
The objective of the project is to take full advantage of this new facility by giving it a truly cross-community status by expanding its public and activity capacity. Delivered at the beginning of September, in line with the expectations of the commissioning authority CAPI, the swimming pool is part of its energy transition and sustainable development policy. It is also intended to make this new facility a flagship in terms of energy transition and to obtain the BEPOS (Positive Energy Building) label.

Context
CAPI manages 4 year-round facilities, 2 summer facilities, and 1 open-air center. In addition to the services currently offered, this future facility is intended for the public learning to swim and for associations organizing diverse sports activities. It can accommodate 450 people, including an 8-lane pool equipped with a moving floor to manage common activities, and a wading pool (without specific outdoor facilities). The objective is to create a quality building in terms of comfort, hygiene quality, building materials, and activities, and it has ultimately obtained the NF HQE Piscine certification.

Landscaping
The project links the neighborhood with the open passage of the Avenue du Dauphiné. It is located in a flood zone, with a parking lot to the east. Since a partial purification of the site was necessary, no grading of polluted soil was required. Apart from the trees designated for felling by the National Forestry Office report, the others were preserved. The landscape system for natural rainwater management includes the alternating use of permeable parking lots, ditches, and infiltration basins, in addition to which a photovoltaic canopy of approximately 160 m² will be installed.

The facility is located on the western side of the site, and the entrance immediately reveals the widest part of the project: the swimming pool, through large floor-to-ceiling windows. The facility, open to the south, benefits from a large amount of light entering through the skylights. The huge sawtooth roof, arranged in staggered waves, brings uniform light to the swimming pool basin. This variable, pleated roof is also intended to improve acoustic comfort in the basin areas.
