茅草屋顶的诗意：项目最引人注目的特征是其欧洲最大的茅草屋顶，面积达到7100平方米。这个巨大的屋顶不仅在视觉上给人以深刻的印象，更是对当地传统建筑风格的现代演绎。建筑师巧妙地将屋顶设计成低坡度，与周围的沙丘形态相呼应，使其仿佛是沙丘的延伸。屋顶的造型在远处看就像海浪一样，与周围环境和谐统一。这种设计语言既是对当地文化传统的尊重，也赋予了建筑独特的诗意和美学价值。茅草屋顶的应用也体现了对当地材料和工艺的尊重，同时也提供了良好的保温性能。

Our project is always understood as a contemporary reaction to the creations of our predecessors. At the same time, building in Sylt means becoming a part of the sand dunes in motion.

We designed buildings that harmoniously coexist with nature for Lanserhof and simplified them to the most basic level, which is our definition of luxury today, "said Christoph Ingenhoven. The beauty of sand dune landscapes shapes design. The new Lanserhof hotel is part of this landscape. The previous development in the region led to the birth of a new hotel: it was built on a military site in the 1930s. In addition to the listed military officer residences, it also includes the newly completed main building, three seaside villas, and a diagnostic building. Even from a distance, the overhanging thatched roof of the new building leaves a deep impression. These buildings together form the largest thatched roof in Europe, covering an area of 7100 square meters.

Just as Lanserhof Hospital's medical philosophy is "reduction", the luxurious design here does not mean decoration and surface luxury, but rather tranquility and focus: carefully selected materials, spacious rooms, close relationship between humans and nature, and careful combination of interior and exterior. The color scheme leans towards the sand dune landscape, with beige, white, gray, wooden flooring, large windows, and transparent glass. The main building consists of three building parts that are interconnected on the north side. The building structure is compact to minimize the sealing area as much as possible. In addition, high insulation performance greatly reduces energy demand.

The two-story top floor can accommodate 55 guest rooms, while the ground floor is a medical spa center with a clinic, treatment room, reception desk, and restaurant. Finally, there is a basement with fitness facilities including a climbing wall, spa center, bathing area, and indoor and outdoor seawater pools. In terms of design, the main building is inspired by houses in the Frisian region, with a low pitched thatched roof, relatively small facade area, and relatively few windows. Lanserhof Resort adopts a modern interpretation: the main building is built on a support structure, so the bottom floor is surrounded by glass - this is a continuum of the house and sand dunes, with only a portion of the interior space allowing for a glimpse. The ridge and eaves sway gently, and the graceful shape of the thatched roof echoes the sand dunes from afar.

The grand staircase made of steel and oak constitutes the core spatial element of the building's interior. It connects various floors and guides guests from the garage reception to the medical area and then to the rooms, each with its own outdoor shelter. The wooden gallery carved on the roof can withstand strong winds and also provide a panoramic view of the sea or sand dunes. All materials used, such as insulation materials, varnish, and paint, have undergone ecological and health testing.
