场地与环境的融合:建筑设计与周边环境的和谐共生是该项目的又一亮点。项目选址位于校园主干道旁,设计师巧妙地利用了这一位置,将体育馆打造为连接校园东西区域的枢纽。同时,设计充分尊重并融入了周边的自然景观,通过退让的体量和谦逊的立面设计,与场地西侧和北侧的绿化完美融合。特别是树伞广场的设计,不仅为师生提供了遮阳避雨的场所,更创造了舒适的微气候环境,成为校园中极具吸引力的活动节点。这种设计理念体现了对生态环境的尊重,也提升了建筑的整体美学价值,使体育馆成为校园景观的一部分。

文化与科技的融合:建筑立面设计是该项目的点睛之笔,它将农业学科的文化元素与现代建筑技术完美结合。通过对“麦穗”形象的抽象化处理,并运用参数化折面铝板,营造出风吹麦浪的视觉效果,既体现了学校的学科特色,又兼顾了建筑的实用性。这种设计不仅提升了建筑的艺术表现力,也实现了内部空间的自然通风和采光。此外,项目在设计过程中融入了研究性设计策略,通过问卷调查了解师生需求,使设计更具针对性和实用性。这种对可持续性和公共价值的追求,使得该体育馆不仅是一个运动场所,更是一个展现校园文化、传递生态理念的标志性建筑。

The total construction area of the Comprehensive Sports Center of South China Agricultural University is 52450 square meters, with three floors and a height of 23.7 meters. Its main functions include a first-class main competition hall, training hall, swimming pool, and supporting service functions that can accommodate nearly 8000 people. This venue is the first new venue to be built for the 15th National Games in 2025, and will host the youth volleyball competition of the National Games. As a key construction project in Guangdong Province, this sports hall is one of the largest comprehensive sports halls in Guangdong universities. While meeting the needs of school physical education teaching, it can also host domestic or international events. After completion, it was used as one of the main venues for the CBA Guangzhou Dragon and Lion Team. The comprehensive sports hall of South China Agricultural University has won the WINNER award for the 2025 ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture in Germany.
华南农业大学综合体育馆总建筑面积 52450㎡,建筑层数三层,高 23.7m。主要功能包含了能容纳近 8000 人的甲级主比赛馆、训练馆、游泳馆和配套服务功能。该馆是 2025 年第十五届全运会首个建成的新场馆,将承担全运会青年排球比赛项目。该体育馆作为广东省重点建设项目,是广东高校规模最大的综合体育馆之一,在满足学校体育教学的同时,能够承接国内一类赛事或国际赛事,建成后曾作为 CBA 广州龙狮队的主场场馆之一使用。华南农业大学综合体育馆获得 2025 年度德国标志性建筑奖(ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture)WINNER 大奖。

The comprehensive sports hall of South China Agricultural University has innovatively adopted the concept of openness and community, breaking the traditional closed architectural interface of sports halls. By integrating community sharing services and social functions, as well as outdoor spaces such as tree umbrella squares, skateboard courts, pedestrian arcades, and multi-level platforms, the design aims to transform the sports arena into an open center for campus sports and community activities. This practice effectively improved the daily utilization rate of the venue, while integrating the gymnasium into campus life and creating a vibrant campus space and new place memories.
华南农业大学综合体育馆开创性地采用了开放与社区化理念,打破了传统体育馆封闭的建筑界面。设计通过融合社区共享服务与社交的复合化功能,以及树伞广场、滑板场地、步行骑楼、多层次平台等户外空间,将体育馆打造为一个开放的校园运动与社区活动中心。本次实践有效地提升了场馆日常使用率,同时使体育馆融入校园生活,并创造了充满活力的校园空间和新的场所记忆。

Integration of project site selection and environment

The site selection is located on the east side of the gate of South China Agricultural University, and has the conditions for open sharing with external communities.. The venue is 440m long from east to west, with a maximum height difference of 13m. The west and east sides lead to the teaching area and living area respectively, making it a necessary place for teachers and students to commute back and forth. The design aims to turn the sports hall into an open and vibrant community center, as well as a dynamic link connecting the east and west zones of the campus. At the same time, there are tall trees growing well on the west and north sides of the land, and the design perfectly integrates the sports hall with the surrounding ecological landscape through a setback volume and humble facade design.
项目选址与环境融合

选址位于华南农业大学校门东侧,具有向校外社区开放共享的条件。场地东西长 440m,高差最大 13m,西侧和东侧分别通向教学区和生活区,是师生通勤往返的必经之地,设计希望将体育馆打造为一个开放的活力社区中心,以及联系校园东西分区的活力纽带。同时,用地西侧、北侧有生长良好的高大树木,设计通过退让的体量与谦逊的立面设计,使体育馆与周边生态景观完美融合。

Open Community and Composite Functions

The gymnasium is located on the path of daily commuting between teaching and living areas for teachers and students on campus. The designer hopes to integrate the gymnasium into campus life and become a more communicative community center.. The design adopts a community-based design strategy that combines functionality and spatial openness; Firstly, the swimming pool, tennis training hall and other venues will be arranged along the main roads of the school with transparent interfaces. Skateboards, climbing fields, gyms and other more daily and open spaces will be set up along the main pedestrian flow lines. Through these open and interactive sports facilities, the experience and participation of teachers and students along the way will be increased. Secondly, coffee shops and leisure bars will be set up in the entrance halls of the training hall and swimming pool. The first floor elevated level will introduce community service functions such as cold drink shops and sports equipment stores, and facilities such as leisure seating steps and chairs will be arranged to create more public and community-based communication places for teachers and students passing by on a daily basis. The open and composite design makes the sports arena no longer a closed venue, but an open and vibrant community for communication.
开放社区与复合功能

体育馆处于校园师生日常往返于教学与生活区之间的路径上,设计师希望将体育馆融入校园生活,成为更具有交往功能的社区中心。设计采用了功能复合与空间开放的社区化设计策略;首先,将泳池、网球训练馆等场馆结合透明的界面沿校内主要道路布置,在主要步行流线旁布置滑板、攀岩场、健身房等更具有日常性与开放性的空间,通过这种开放、互动的体育设施,增加了沿途师生的体验感与参与感。其次,在训练馆、游泳馆门厅设置咖啡厅与休闲吧,首层架空层引入冷饮店、体育用品店等社区服务功能,并布置了休闲坐阶、座椅等设施,为日常路过的师生创造更多可以停留下来的公共性、社区化交往场所。开放与复合的设计使体育馆不再是一个封闭的场馆,而成为一个开放、充满活力的交往社区。

Venue creation and experience along the way

At the street corner between the competition hall and the swimming pool, a small square is enclosed by a diagonally cut building volume, which includes a skateboard pool, a cold drink bar, leisure seating steps, and a leisure exhibition gallery, which can accommodate sports, clubs, and various spontaneous social activities.. 20 sets of umbrella shaped sunshade structures have been set up on the square, forming a campus communication space node with tree umbrellas as the theme. The tree umbrella array is themed around the "sprout" element in the emblem of South China Agricultural University, and is arranged in the north-south ventilation corridor. They adapt to the strong sunlight and rainy climate in subtropical regions, creating an all-weather outdoor activity venue. The tree umbrella creates rich light and comfortable microclimate environment in the square, coupled with the leisure coffee bar next to the square, which attracts students and community residents to exercise, gather, relax and communicate in it on weekdays, and also creates an iconic venue carrying the memories of teachers and students on campus.
场所营造与沿途体验

在比赛馆与游泳馆之间的街角处,斜向切割的建筑体量围合形成小广场,其中布置了滑板池、冷饮吧、休闲坐阶与休闲展廊,可以容纳运动、社团与各类自发的社交活动。广场上设置了 20 组伞状遮阳构筑物,形成了以树伞为主题的校园交往空间节点。树伞阵列以华南农业大学校徽中的“萌芽”元素为主题,布置于南北向通风廊道之中,它们适应亚热带地区日照强烈和多雨的气候,创造了全天候的户外活动场所。树伞在广场上创造丰富的光影与舒适的小气候环境,加上广场旁的休闲咖啡吧,这里平日吸引了学生与社区居民在其中运动、聚集、休憩与交流,也在校园中创造了一个承载师生记忆的标志性场所。

Expression of Agricultural Campus Culture

The facade design combines the disciplinary characteristics of Agricultural University and draws on the technique of expressing grain ears and barns through color blocks in Impressionist oil paintings. Three different perforated aluminum plates are designed as the main theme of the facade "wheat ears" composition, forming three warm yellow tones with different brightness levels. Combined with the mechanism of perforated folded plate curtain wall, the abstract "harvest wheat waves" image is expressed.. The facade adopts a folded plate gradient treatment, forming a rich visual effect that resembles the wind blowing wheat waves as the light and viewing angle change, bringing a unique visual experience to teachers and students along the way. The facade of the sports arena creatively integrates elements of agricultural disciplines with modern architectural technology, integrating sports architecture into the campus community and becoming a business card to showcase disciplinary culture and enhance cultural confidence.
农业校园文化表达

立面设计结合农业大学的学科特点,借鉴了印象派油画中通过色块表达谷穗与谷仓意像的手法,通过设计三种不同穿孔率铝板作为立面 “麦穗”构图母题,形成三种不同明度的暖黄色调,结合穿孔折板幕墙机理表现抽象的“丰收麦浪”意像。立面采用折板渐变的处理,随着光线与观赏角度的变化形成彷如风吹麦浪的丰富的视觉效果,为沿途师生带来步移景异的视觉体验。体育馆立面创造性的将农业学科元素与现代建筑技术融合,使体育建筑融入校园社区,成为展现学科文化、提升文化自信的名片。

Research based design strategy

This practice is one of the few university sports venues in South China that integrates community participation and research based design strategies during the construction process.
. During the planning phase, the project conducted a questionnaire survey on the campus community to analyze and understand the usage needs of teachers and students for daily sports activities. In the design phase, the project proposed design goals that integrate daily usage needs and conducted relevant design research.

本次实践是华南地区少有的在建设过程中融合社区参与和研究性设计策略的大学体育馆。项目在策划阶段通过对校园社区的问卷调查,分析了解师生日常性运动活动的使用需求,在设计阶段提出融合日常使用需求的设计目标,并开展相关的设计研究。

Accessibility and Universal Design

By integrating functional layouts that meet daily needs, combined with three-dimensional traffic organization and flexible and variable usage space, the utilization rate of the university sports arena is fully improved while ensuring that it can be switched between normal times and competitions..

(1) The sports hall adopts a double first floor design to achieve a three-dimensional traffic organization that takes into account both inside and outside the school, effectively ensuring that the audience on and outside the school has relatively independent flow lines, and the flow of people during regular competitions is reasonably organized. During large-scale events, allow off campus spectators to walk up the west steps through the school gate and enter the competition hall through the second floor platform. During on campus competitions and daily use, students can enter the entrance halls of the competition hall, swimming pool, and training hall through the road on the north side of the gymnasium from the first floor entrance.
(1)立体分流的交通组织

体育馆采用了双首层的设计,实现兼顾校内外人流的立体交通组织,有效保证校内外观众都具有相对独立的流线,平时赛时人流都得到合理的组织。在举办大型赛事时,让校外观众通过校门走上西侧台阶,通过二层平台进入竞赛馆。在校内师生赛时与日常使用时,可通过体育馆北侧道路,从一层入口进入竞赛馆、游泳馆与训练馆的门厅。

(2) The design of flexible and adaptable use space endows the gymnasium with diverse usage possibilities through variable functional arrangements, improving the efficiency of venue utilization. Among them, the main venue adopts a three sided platform design, which can meet the needs of large-scale events, campus ceremonies, and performances. The stage side adopts a multifunctional design, which can be converted between the stage, the podium, and the training venue. Around the central stadium and some stands, movable seats that can be folded up during normal times are set up to facilitate the adjustment to various types of stadiums during non match times, increasing the area of sports venues used for daily classes and improving the daily utilization of venue space. The peripheral ancillary rooms also adopt a variable elastic design, and through the adjustment of movable partition walls, the rooms can adapt to different usage needs during normal times and competitions.
(2)弹性可变的使用空间

设计通过可变的功能布置为体育馆赋予了多样使用可能,提升场馆的使用效率。其中:主场馆采用三边台设计,可满足大型赛事和校园典礼、表演使用,舞台侧采用多功能设计,可在舞台、主席台、训练场地之间转换。中心球场周边和部分看台坐席设置平时可收起得活动座位,方便非赛时时调整为各类球场,增加日常上课使用的运动场地面积,提升场馆空间的日常利用率。外围附属用房也采用可变的弹性设计,通过可移动隔墙的调整,使房间适应平时与赛事不同的使用需求。

Sustainability and Public Value

The gymnasium of South China Agricultural University creatively integrates passive energy-saving technology, parametric technology, and cultural elements of agricultural disciplines.. The exterior facade is designed with parameterized folded aluminum panels for ventilation, which not only forms the architectural appearance resembling the wheat ears and barns in Impressionist oil paintings, but also achieves an interior space dominated by natural ventilation and lighting. In addition, the preserved trees around the venue make the gymnasium a landmark that showcases the concept of ecological sustainability and academic culture on campus.
可持续性和公共价值

华南农业大学体育馆创造性地将被动式节能技术、参数化技术与农业学科文化元素融合。外立面通过参数化设计的折面铝板通风表皮,既组成了犹如印象派油画中麦穗与谷仓的意像的建筑外形,又实现了以自然通风、采光为主的内部空间。再加上场地周边的保留树木,使体育馆成为校园里展现生态可持续理念与学科文化示范性地标。
