From the architect. Solar Locus is the corporate headquarters of a solar energy company in Taiwan. This project takes light as the starting point, seeks to return to the essence of nature, and uses architecture as a medium to reconnect people with nature. The design aims to create a building that can capture the traces of light and shadow - people can re perceive the existence of light and nature through spatial perception - making the building itself a "container of light".

This five story building has a magnificent cubic shape, quietly rooted in the vibrant urban environment. The concrete exterior wall may seem impenetrable and incredibly sturdy, but when you pass through it, you will find an exquisite glass block that presents a sharp contrast between heaviness and lightness. The curves on the building facade evoke the sun - sunrise and sunset - and its trajectory in the sky. The ground floor is equipped with arches that lead to the front square and side gardens, providing a public space for social interaction and enhancing the openness of the building. Further up, the curved opening faces the city, creating a dialogue between the rooftop garden and the urban texture.

There is a transparent transition space between the concrete shell and the glass block, where air and light can freely circulate. This vertical atrium directs the line of sight upwards, framing the sky as an intuitive link closely connected to nature. The interior of the enclosure wall can be regarded as the "fifth facade" of the building - a vertical painting that extends from the ground to the roof - through which people can perceive the endless existence of light. The circular perforations vary in size and correspond to the structural bolt grid of plain concrete, injecting a humanized scale into the originally large block. Sunlight shines through these small holes and gently spreads into mottled beams, reflecting into the room.

The architectural form is concise, achieving a precise balance between volume and space, refined to the purest core of structure and material - guiding users to experience the essence of space. In daily interactions, the changes and interactions of light stimulate people's perception of natural order and non-material temporality, quietly encouraging them to reconnect with themselves and the surrounding world.
