Maze Home
The project is located in the Ganlu Mountain Cultural and Creative City in Wuhan. It is the first large-scale "Ice and Snow+" cultural and tourism complex in Central China invested and built by Wuhan Urban Construction Group. This is also the first time we have left the true wilderness and integrated into a rich cultural and tourism complex project. In this context, we still hope to create an isolated spatial experience, so we have joined forces with homeowners and communities to launch the "Island Residence Plan", which will create a series of small island wooden houses and explore the possibility of returning to nature through different spatial forms. The 'Maze House' is part of the Nature Co construction Plan and also an attempt to explore the diversity of residential spaces.

The connected houses get lost at home.
The site is a slender island, and there are plans to build 5 wilderness homes.. Compared to the previous form and predictable flat functions of standalone wooden houses, friends in the community hope to "live vaguely" once. Perhaps they are tired of precise spatial relationships, or perhaps we can hike at home or even get lost at home once.

So the design was transformed into a game of "finding a house", with 13 modules consisting of bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms scattered on the island, connected by a 100 meter long and 80 centimeter wide black corridor. The corridor is sometimes a mini courtyard, and sometimes the indoor sky is bright. Combined with the irregular angles of the island terrain, it connects all the rooms and provides a privacy barrier for the living space.

Shuttling through the black corridor, with the sky shining at the top, it feels like wandering in nature. The irregular angles of the corridor bring spatial disorientation and also bring some surprises upon arrival. Children especially love the Maze Home, running back and forth with friends and companions. Perhaps children have the most right to get lost.

Independence and Aggregation
"Maze Home" is a large house and also 5 small houses. The 100 meter long black corridor is equipped with flexible partitions that can be independently divided into groups. By opening and closing, the space can be flexibly divided into 5 fully functional independent living units.

The people living here are at a distance from each other. At the end of the 100 meter corridor, there may be your friends living there, and you may also encounter familiar family members on the way, as if shuttling through the profile of childhood neighborhood community life. Unlike other wilderness homes in the world, compared to loneliness, the maze wooden house attempts to present the original settlement relationship, a balance between independence and aggregation. The Maze Home is still a kind of isolated place that requires taking a boat to reach each other's docks. You can look up at the sky in your own maze or knock on your neighbor's door to say hello.

Each World - Small House, Big Dream
Each World has always been committed to returning to natural life through natural construction. Maze Home continues this natural wilderness experiment, breaking free from the inertia of thinking about size and focusing on the relationship between living behavior and environment. The answer to space must be far from the daily living experience, and even somewhat paranoid.. Maze "blurs the boundaries of home, while" small "brings people closer to materials, making us more sensitive. Since we have arrived in the forest, why not spend a day barefoot and listen to the sound of withered leaves being trampled on the terrace.

Natural Construction
The overall structure of the building is made of glued laminated wood, and each irregular component and node is designed and customized through digital technology, achieving 100% fully assembled construction.. There is no standard answer about living, and everyone hopes that their place of residence can convey their understanding of life, so there is a setting of "getting lost at home once". The world continues the traditional concept of natural construction. We preserve every tree and bamboo on the site, continuing the original forest and path texture. The houses are completely elevated on the ground, and all the buildings are independently developed prefabricated wooden structures, built by the team and users together. Natural architecture can be built like Lego. The small house is placed in the forest like building blocks. We adhere to primitive and wild wooden construction techniques, personally firing carbonized wooden boards for the exterior facade. The connection method of the wooden house is all small metal components that can be repeatedly assembled. We try to manage the precise relationship between the house and the environment in nature. Each wooden house is an elevated structure, and the house does not touch the ground, nor does it have walls or artificial landscapes. Nature is the best wrapping.
