This project is designed for the office of a candy and food manufacturing company. The customer's vision is to contribute to a sustainable world for customers, employees, and society by providing them with physical and mental health and an environment. As the foundation for realizing their vision, we have designed their new office as a forest of the city, where many species coexist, and named it "KAKUHAN no Mori", meaning "mixed forest". Our ideal location is a place where diverse nature and employees inside and outside the company can interact with each other and expand their world, just like mixing ingredients to make candy and enjoying it together.

We have created an environment co creation office based on the forest as a reference, because the forest is a symbol of coexistence and inclusiveness. Firstly, we will design the landscape to resemble a forest. Tokyo is a big city with few natural landscapes, so even with limited natural environment, it is still a crucial habitat for migratory birds. We analyzed the vegetation conditions of the site and the ecological habits of migratory birds, and planted trees that are favored by migratory birds to expand the green coverage of the city.

Secondly, we have used a large amount of wood internally, structurally, and externally. We will link this project with the forest cycle of the founder's birthplace, and pass on his spirit and healthy forestry to future generations. Indoor and outdoor wood is cut down by the client's staff and designers. After the completion of the project, we planted new seedlings for future forestry.

The interior design inspiration comes from the scenery of the forest. The first and second floors are designed as the foundation of the forest, connecting and interacting with locals, companies, and the landscape. The main workspace is designed from the canopy, which contains different sizes, shadows, and unevenness. The bright top layer is inspired by the tops of trees and the diffuse reflection of sunlight.

In addition, we attempt to improve physical and mental health by installing natural waves in the space. The design of the mirror facade is to reflect the green and sky of the landscape. It also has the function of a wind trap, providing natural ventilation for infectious disease control, and a sunlight controller that brings the brightness of sunlight into the space while reducing heat load. The color temperature of external lighting is linked to the actual temperature and changes gently. Some internal lighting is linked to external wind speed sensors to make the shadows of indoor plants sway, resulting in shaking and flickering effects.

Natural wind, sunlight, and lighting create uneven light and shadow, like a forest in a workspace. Workers can experience nature anytime, anywhere. In addition, the 7th floor and roof level are designed as "health" areas. Various devices have been installed to enjoy the sunny and gentle breeze of health promoting activities, such as herbal and fruit gardens, easy to stretch fitness facilities, shrines, and 100 meter walking trails.
