Climate Courtyard Copenhagen is part of Copenhagen’s first climate-resilient neighbourhood adapted to climate change. The aim is to equip the area to withstand the large volumes of rain we have experienced in the torrential downpours that have occurred in recent years.

In the climate-resilient neighbourhood we have developed methods and expertise to be used when the rest of Copenhagen – over the next 20 years – is future-proofed against heavier rain and torrential downpours.

This extensive transformation seeks to create an inviting and secure atmosphere where diverse users can gather and enjoy the space in harmony with both architecture and urban nature.

The objective was to turn the courtyard into an inspiring living space that combines the energy of community with opportunities for more private and intimate retreats. Through workshops for residents, the project has been shaped to meet the varied needs and preferences of its users, ensuring optimal use of the space.
更大绿地的战略布局为放松和社交创造了自然场所。这些绿色口袋是连接和对话的枢纽，而沿着雨水床的有凝聚力的通道系统连接着不同的功能区，包括专门设计的自行车存放棚和实用设施。棚屋创造了舒适的壁龛，增强了整个亲密庭院的流动性。
Strategic placement of larger green areas creates natural spots for relaxation and social interaction. These green pockets serve as hubs for connection and dialogue, while a cohesive pathway system along rainwater beds links different functional areas, including specially designed storage sheds for bicycles and practical amenities. Sheds create cosy niches and enhance the flow throughout the intimate courtyard.
可持续性是这次翻修的核心，材料和设计的选择经过仔细考虑，以尽量减少对环境的影响。该项目旨在创造一个独特的庭院，反映现代可持续发展原则，同时培养充满活力和包容性的社区生活。这个庭院不仅是一个居住的地方，也是城市自然、人和可持续发展和谐共生的聚会场所。
Sustainability is central to this renovation, with the choice of materials and design carefully considered to minimize environmental impact. The project aspires to create a distinctive courtyard that reflects modern principles of sustainability while also fostering vibrant and inclusive community life. This courtyard is not merely a place to live but a meeting ground where urban nature, people, and sustainability come together in a harmonious symbiosis.
该项目于2016年完工，2024年夏末拍摄的照片显示，它继续发挥最佳作用，既是一个气候适应型庭院，也是哥本哈根市中心的绿色绿洲。
The project was completed in 2016, and photos taken in the late summer of 2024 show that it continues to function optimally, both as a climate-resilient courtyard and as a green oasis in the heart of Copenhagen.
