The new Health Center in Nof-Yam is a two-story public building, owned by Clalit, Israel's leading national healthcare service provider. Situated between the sea and a main road, time seems to stand still here.

First Floor Plan
This sense of permanence is meticulously cultivated not only in the details of the building but also systematically established from the ground floor. The first-floor plan, dominated by the reception area, sets the balanced tone for the building: spaces partially outlined by columns and partially enveloped by concrete walls reveal the building's core characteristics to the visitor: light and shadow; the dialectical unity of void and solid; and on a more subtle level, the binary structure of stillness and flow. The former is clearly expressed by the three pairs of external columns, each pair containing a slender cylinder and a long, thick, almost comical vertical support. The contrast between the two creates a spatial rhythm somewhere between integrity and dispersion, hoping that people can draw inner composure from the building.

The building facade also employs a poetic language. At first glance, it appears as a monolithic concrete volume, but the designers cleverly mitigate its heaviness by introducing dynamic aluminum louvers into the gaps of the white walls. The louvers utilize a series of custom vertical elements to create a gentle, hazy, and flowing sensation, which perfectly contrasts with the static white cube.
建筑立面同样采用了富有诗意的语言。乍一眼看去只有一个巨大的混凝土体量，但设计师通过在白色墙体的空隙中引入灵动的铝制百叶，巧妙地化解了建筑的沉重之感。百叶采用一系列定制的垂直构件，创造出温柔、朦胧、流动之感，恰好与静止的白色立方体相对。

This tension greatly influences the visitor's experience upon entering the building. The design also unifies the rhythm of the louvers with that of the staircase and handrails; these cast shadows on the clinic's floors, creating a dreamlike realm interwoven with light and shade. This not only defines the main circulation spaces but also provides a perfect backdrop for those wandering through the building. Simply moving through the building's staircase allows light, shadow, and people to dance together. This gentle and elegant spatial atmosphere also aligns with the building's function and the context of its time. The new health center was established in 2021, amidst the raging pandemic, urgently needing to respond to growing demands for health services. In such an uncertain world, there is an even greater need to seek peace and inclusion in public buildings.
