结构分层与空间体验的精妙处理：在宏观尺度上，项目通过划分出容纳不同核心功能的四个单体建筑，确保了各个功能（演讲厅、实验室、办公室、图书馆）都能获得最优化的空间和技术环境。在微观体验上，设计层次丰富，从围绕广场的公共底层到具有象征意义的行政楼顶层空中酒吧，空间序列引导清晰。这种结构上的清晰划分和体验上的层层递进，为1800名学生和250名科研人员提供了一个舒适、现代且极具启发性的高品质学习和研究环境。

From the architect. LORENZATELIERS won the design competition for the new building of the Medical Faculty in Linz throughout the entire EU area with the urban concept in the design. The special appeal of the project lies in the opportunity to create a city within the city, which combines the general hospital and the university.

The idea of the campus is to promote research, exchange, and communication. Classrooms and research rooms, offices, the library, cafés, supermarkets, and shops are mixed around an open campus, creating a lively, attractive urban atmosphere. 1,800 students and 250 professors and researchers will study, teach, and research in this 12,500-square-meter building.

The large building volume is composed of four building structures that surround a common square. The four main functions—lecture hall, laboratories, offices, and library—are each housed in one building. The division into four separate buildings is intended to allow for the best possible spatial, technical, and design solutions for the different functions. From the outside, these buildings form a compact complex between the general hospital, the blood donation center, the hospital roads, and the park.

The central square in the middle is located at the intersection of the paths formed. It opens up to the adjacent spaces and becomes an urban meeting place. Inside the building, the ground floor areas around the square are designated as public functional areas, such as foyers, cafés, meeting rooms, and shops.

At its highest point, the medical campus culminates in the sky bar on the top floor of the administration building. While a restaurant outside the room program was initially suggested, it was ultimately decided to create space for events for the medical faculty.
