富有仪式感的入口序列与室内外体验的连续性：入口体验被精心策划，利用两道宏伟的弧形刀片墙之间的间隙，巧妙地隐藏了建筑体量，增强了抵达时的神秘感和雕塑吸引力。轻微倾斜的倒置锌屋顶引导访客穿过门槛。进入内部后，木质镶板走廊将视野逐渐导向开阔的画框景观，中央的石砌壁炉与散射的木梁共同构筑了当代俱乐部空间的核心焦点。室内外的设计语言和材料系统实现了高度的连续性，提供了沉浸式的空间叙事。

The design of Lonsdale Links responds to the gently undulating topography of the adjacent golf course and the prehistoric Australian coastline, presenting itself as an artifact within the landscape. The building’s silhouette and soft forms connect with the site, with its design intentionally considering the surrounding links golf course. Sited atop a small crest, the building will emerge above the tree line from various vantage points as golfers traverse the course. It is firmly rooted to the site to accommodate the maritime conditions and prevailing winds along Bass Strait.

The structure of the building is extremely robust, held firmly to the ground by a series of curved blade walls embedded into the terrain, surfaced with a highly textured paint. Wide, dark laminated timber beams scatter out from the building’s spine, emphasizing the non-linear shapes. The naturalistic colour palette is influenced by the warm colours of the rural environment, particularly the bronze glass reflecting the evening light. The surfaces have a raw, natural character that shapes a feeling of permanence in the coastal setting.

The entrance experience is created in the gap between two monumental rendered blade walls, concealing the building’s mass and its distinct landscaping upon approach. The sculptural nature of the blades and the slightly raked, inverted zinc roof converge to draw visitors across the threshold. Four circular orange light accents activate the walls further to invite entry. Beyond the entrance walls, a timber-lined corridor gradually leads guests towards the restaurant or golf lounge, containing open framed views towards Lake Victoria, the golf course, and the coastal rural landscape.

The building’s structural elements are an uninterrupted expression internally, integrated with the interior fit-out to create a contemporary interpretation of the club typology. A central dry-stone-clad fireplace is the focal point of the lounge, from which the laminated timber beams and folded acoustic ceiling radiate in an arc. A vibrant green carpet provides a visual link to the fairways and adds a burst of playfulness to the palette of natural textured materials. A massive timber screen door provides operational flexibility to the lounge and restaurant, allowing for the two spaces to be combined or separated as required.

In summary, the clubhouse incorporates a golfers’ lounge, restaurant, commercial kitchen, pro-shop, multi-purpose space, members’ locker rooms, kiosks, and support facilities. The planning needs have been zoned in an efficiently adjacent manner. Lonsdale Links is a sculpture in the landscape with commanding views over the preferred golf course and rural landscape beyond Lake Victoria. Its distinct positioning and architectural execution have attracted increased membership and greater community interaction.
