环境融入与背景化策略:该设计针对2025年世博会特定场地环境,采取了极为克制的建筑手法,不追求突出的形态,而是将自身定位为背景元素。通过最大化地凸显周边标志性建筑和景观,使卫生间成为衬托环境的“隐形”建筑。这种策略在高度关注展示性的世博会环境中,展现了一种独特的谦逊与智慧,将焦点引导至更宏大的叙事,体现了对场地文脉和视觉平衡的深刻理解。

光环境与材料的创新融合:项目巧妙地平衡了公共卫生间所需的自然采光与必要的私密性。通过3D打印聚碳酸酯面板和钢结构框架的结合,实现了网状延展的灵活布局。这些面板不仅适应了圆形轴线的复杂形态,其反射性和半透明特性,结合内部柔和的铝制天花板,共同创造出动态的光影效果。这种对材料属性的精妙运用,使得建筑在光线互动中产生了轻盈、“海市蜃楼”般的视觉体验。

3D打印技术的适应性应用与后世博的生命力:设计并未将3D打印局限于常见的封闭容器模式,而是将其视为传统建筑方法的延伸,专注于利用其适应复杂几何形状的能力。模块化系统结合适应性打印技术,成功处理了复杂的曲面结构。更重要的是,设计将3D打印自然产生的“纹理瑕疵”纳入建筑语言,并考虑了建筑在世博会后的迁移与重生。这种对技术、美学与生命周期的整体考量,赋予了这座临时性建筑深刻的诗意与可持续的想象空间。

This project is a public restroom designed for the 2025 World Expo. Addressing the specific context of a square surrounded by iconic architecture, the building avoids a clearly defined form, instead being designed to recede into the background—an architecture that merely highlights the surrounding scenery, making the nearby landscape the visual focus.

As a restroom situated in a highly open environment, the design aims to create a space filled with natural light while simultaneously ensuring privacy. The floor plan extends in a mesh-like manner, with a steel frame supporting 3D-printed polycarbonate panels that flexibly adapt to the changes in form along the circular axis.

The design does not adopt the enclosed container-like forms common to 3D printing; instead, it positions itself as an extension of traditional construction methods. Consequently, the project opts for a modular system, utilizing the adaptability of 3D printing to handle complex geometries and dimensional variations.

The exterior panels and eaves are printed integrally, completely concealing the roof structure. The polycarbonate panels are arranged along the circular direction, while radial components (such as walls and low partitions) are finished with galvanized steel sheets, ensuring a unified tone and a light-reflecting texture throughout.
建筑外围面板与屋檐一体化打印,完全隐藏了屋顶结构。聚碳酸酯面板沿圆形方向布置,而径向构件(如墙体与低矮隔断)则采用镀铝锌钢板饰面,确保整体色调统一且具有光线反射质感。

The indoor ceiling is made of flexible aluminum insulation material, forming a softly glowing surface. In the accessible restroom, double-layered 3D-printed walls create a high, luminous facade.

The wave-like 3D-printed panels naturally develop textural variations during the manufacturing process; these "imperfections" are deliberately retained as part of the architectural language. The 3D-printed panels, possessing both reflective and translucent qualities, capture complex light and shadow, allowing the building to manifest its presence through interaction with the environment. This structure, exhibited only during the Expo, will subsequently be relocated elsewhere. Amidst the flowing interplay of light and shadow, it resembles a mirage floating upon the island, completing a poetic expression of evanescence and rebirth.
