极致简约与材料的诚实表达:设计理念“极致简约即足够”得到了纯粹的材料策略支撑。建筑摈弃了不必要的装饰和饰面,采用优化后的钢筋混凝土骨架、CLT天花板和混凝土砌块墙体,所有表面保持原始状态,易于维护。这种对材料“裸露”和诚实的表达,不仅显著降低了初始建造成本和长期维护成本,更赋予了建筑一种朴素而坚实的时代特征。
高效集成的技术与空间策略:建筑通过巧妙的规划实现了技术和功能的极简集成。利用与相邻学校共享技术中心,成功避免了复杂地下室、电梯和楼梯井的设置,确保了整体的无障碍性。单层环绕庭院的布局使室内外空间紧密交织,结合自然通风和集中供暖接入,展示了在有限资源下实现高性能和高适应性的出色设计智慧。
From the architect. A new social meeting point has been created in a diverse working-class community from the 1960s: the Augustin Community Center (Stadtteiltreff Augustin). The site is located between a secondary school, a church, and cooperative housing. The design goal was to create an open, low-threshold, and non-hierarchical space accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or social status.

Following the principle that "absolute minimalism is enough," the design only meets basic needs. The result is a single-story, barrier-free pavilion organized around a central courtyard. All rooms are located on the ground floor and interweave with the outdoor spaces.
秉持着“极致简约即足够”的理念,设计仅满足基本需求。最终成果是一座单层无障碍亭阁,围绕中央庭院布局。所有房间均位于地面层,并与室外空间相互交织。

Axonometric analysis
The building structure consists of an optimized reinforced concrete frame, including columns and beams. The enclosed upper space is formed by a cross-laminated timber ceiling, while the exterior walls are filled with concrete masonry units. The internal partitions use lightweight timber structures, integrating storage space, technical infrastructure, and built-in cabinets.

By sharing a technical center with the adjacent school, the need for basements, stairwells, or elevators is eliminated. All surfaces are left untreated for ease of maintenance, avoiding finishes, plaster, or paint. The exterior of the building is clad with a folded aluminum facade.
与相邻学校共用一个技术中心,省去了地下室、楼梯间或电梯的需求。所有表面均未做处理,便于维修,且未使用饰面、石膏或油漆。建筑外部包裹着折叠铝制立面。

Ground floor plan
Building technology is reduced to a minimum: connection to the area heating system via the school center, decentralized hot water supply, natural window ventilation, and a simplified electrical installation reduce both construction and maintenance costs.
