This house is located in the Caboclo community in Paraty, Brazil, at an altitude of 100 meters, immersed in the slopes of the Atlantic Forest that extend to the Serra da Bocaina.

To preserve the landscape heritage of Paraty, IPHAN (National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage) stipulated that this is the last plot permitted for construction in the city, in order to maintain the lush green mountain backdrop surrounding this historic white coastal city.

Both the material transport and the on-site construction and implementation faced numerous challenges, which gave rise to a lightweight building—made of industrialized timber—that both aligned with the vision of building a single-story house on this sloping terrain and required only a few points of support on the ground.

The building employs a logical and progressive geometric structure design, creating a sharp contrast with the natural environment: four triangular trusses construct a spatial pyramid, which establishes the beam and column foundation required for subsequent construction. These trusses were first assembled on the ground and then hoisted onto the concrete columns.

The main volume of the house is suspended above the ground, accessible only by a walkway from the highest point, resembling a boat anchored silently and steadily above the forest at an altitude of 100 meters.
