结构创新的雕塑感屋面系统：昆山奥体中心最引人注目的亮点在于其创新的屋面结构设计。建筑师巧妙地将36对有力的混凝土桁架与柔性索膜结合，形成了一个优雅且具有雕塑感的单体结构。这种设计不仅满足了大型场馆对结构稳定性的要求，而且通过上弦杆的混凝土延伸和覆盖膜材，实现了对自然光线的柔和引入和必要的遮阳挡雨功能。特别是其中最大的单膜结构单元，展示了结构技术与美学表达的完美融合，使建筑在功能性之上更具艺术价值。
高效的人流组织与体验：从专业的赛事需求角度来看，人流的快速、安全疏导至关重要。该项目通过外部的连桥系统和内部宽大的楼梯，构建了一个清晰高效的观众流线。这种设计策略有效引导观众快速进入环形裙楼，并最终到达各层看台，极大地提升了大型集会活动的入场和疏散效率。这一设计理念在开场赛中得到了实际验证，体现了对使用者体验的深度考量和对场馆运营的远见卓识。
城市公共空间的复合整合：该项目超越了单纯的体育场馆定位，成功地将其塑造为一个集体育、文化、休闲于一体的多功能城市节点。通过与景观团队的合作，保留并整合了天然河床元素，将场地转变为一个宽阔的社区休闲区。从建筑出发向外辐射的林荫大道系统，不仅连接了体育设施，也有效串联了周边的休闲与商业配套，使得体育中心真正融入城市肌理，成为一个服务于市民生活的复合型公共空间。
The Kunshan Olympic Sports Center, designed through a collaboration between gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg and Partners and the Architecture Design & Research Institute of Tongji University (Group) Co., Ltd., is a professional football stadium in Jiangsu Province that meets FIFA A-level standards. The stadium can accommodate 45,000 spectators, providing a top-tier venue for professional football matches and driving new development in local football.
昆山奥体中心由 gmp·冯·格康，玛格及合伙人建筑师事务所与同济大学建筑设计研究院（集团）有限公司合作设计，是江苏省内一座达到国际足联 A 级标准的专业足球场。体育场可容纳 4.5 万观众，为专业足球赛事提供顶级场馆，并推动当地足球事业的新发展。

This soap-shaped monolithic structure is supported by 36 pairs of powerful concrete trusses, with flexible cable nets tensioned between each pair of cast-in-place concrete components. This elegant, sculptural support structure was completed in collaboration with sbp Schlaich Bergermann Partner. The roof structure is supported by 36 spatial triangulated steel trusses. The upper chord is an extension of the concrete truss at the roof level, covered with membrane material. The translucent membrane not only provides sun and rain protection but also softly introduces light into the arena. Each exterior facade unit of the cable net structure covers an area of approximately 600 square meters, making it the largest single membrane structure in China to date. The external bridge system outside the stadium allows for fast and smooth entry. Wide staircases guide spectators to the circular podium, and then through 48 bridges to the various tiers of stands. The efficient crowd evacuation function of the bridges was proven during the opening match.

In addition to serving as a venue for major sporting events, the Kunshan Olympic Sports Center is also a multi-functional center integrating sports, culture, and leisure. A natural riverbed was preserved within the landscape park surrounding the football stadium, connecting the park and the stadium. In collaboration with WES Landscapes, the entire site was transformed into a spacious recreational area and a community gathering place. Pathways within the park radiate outwards from the building in the form of tree-lined avenues, leading to supporting facilities such as sports, leisure, and commercial areas.
除了作为大型体育赛事的场地外，昆山奥体中心还是一个集体育、文化和休闲于一体的多功能中心。环绕足球场的景观公园内保留了一条天然河床，连接公园和足球场。与 WES 魏斯景观建筑合作，整个场地被改造成一个宽阔的休闲区以及社区聚会场所。园内路道从建筑出发，以林荫大道的形式向四方辐射，通往体育、休闲与商业等配套设施。
