The real story behind the project lies in the land it is located on and the families living on it. This property has been maintained for many years as a vacation home and a place to enjoy nature, located in an area rich in biodiversity. When the families who owned this land decided to build some more permanent structures, they demolished traditional houses and built a more modern residence near the original site.
项目背后的真实故事在于其所处的土地、以及居住在土地上的家庭。这一地产作为度假屋和一处享受大自然的场所已被维护多年，位于一个充满丰富生物多样性的地区。当拥有这片土地的家庭决定建造一些更为永久的构造时，他们拆除了传统房屋，并在原址附近建造了一座更为现代的住宅。

The new house is very beautiful and can meet the needs of all family members, but the place where the house used to stand is now empty. Although not planned, the construction of the bamboo pavilion is a tribute to traditional housing and its symbolism. In addition, due to the modern and minimalist style adopted in the construction of the new house, in order to offset the simplicity presented, the design of the pavilion has become more sculptural and luxurious.
新房很漂亮，也可以满足所有家庭成员的需求，但原来房子曾矗立的地方如今却已是空无一物。尽管并非计划之中，但竹凉亭的建造方式是对传统住宅及其象征的一种歌颂。此外，由于新房的建造采用了现代简约的风格，为了抵消其所呈现的简单性，凉亭的设计就变得更具雕塑性与华丽感。

The pavilion is built from several different types of bamboo and rattan, and combines multiple arches and ring beams to create a bottom frame to achieve structural strength. Bamboo strips are split open to gain flexibility, allowing them to gather together to form arches; Ma Jia Zhu is mainly found in roof structures and roof mats; The integrated rattan is used for finishing surfaces and all finer details. The architect also set up three openings on the upper side of the pavilion for lighting and ventilation, and temporarily erected a skylight during the construction process to illuminate the complex geometric shape of the grid.
凉亭由几种不同种类的竹子和藤条所建造，并结合了多个拱门和环梁以创造一个底层框架来实现结构强度。簕竹被劈开以获得灵活度，从而得以聚在一起形成拱门；马甲竹则主要见于屋顶结构和屋顶垫；整合的藤条则被用于完成面和所有更为精细的细节。建筑师还在凉亭上侧设置了三个用于采光和通风的开口，并在施工过程中临时搭建了一个天窗，以照亮复杂格子的几何形状。

Although bamboo is found all over India, it is difficult to find high-quality bamboo that has been harvested at the right time and processed with the correct techniques. But this is crucial for building modern bamboo structures that need to last for many years. Many famous bamboo construction companies in the world are collecting and processing their own bamboo, which is also what STUDIOARO is doing.

The STUDIOARO team is composed of Chief Architect Aroty Panyang and a group of passionate builders who are experts in using natural materials. The team purchases the highest quality mature bamboo and then processes it with natural salt. This preservation technique can improve the durability of bamboo for decades, making its application in permanent structures possible.
