Age integrated urban development
Lyngdal Healthcare Center provides long-term or short-term accommodation, temporary nursing homes, day care treatment, and home care services.. The overall idea is to enable elderly care to play a central role in society by enabling residents and unique facilities to contribute to a diverse and vibrant urban environment. Barbershops, shops, cafes, and daycare centers are all shared by residents and locals, serving a shared purpose for the surrounding community as well.

Its purpose is to create a safe and loving environment for different users - residents, visitors, relatives, staff, and volunteers - all of whom should view Lyngdal Healthcare Center as a family like place rather than an institution. In order to create a suitable atmosphere, the focus of the design is on natural lighting, pleasant sound effects, good visibility, and the integration of welfare technology and auxiliary equipment. The color scheme creates a peaceful atmosphere as a serene background for pathfinding, to assist any new residents and those with dementia or cognitive impairment.

As we age and live longer, we will see that people moving into nursing homes need more care. New nursing facilities need to take this into consideration - while also promoting quality of life and workplace efficiency, so that staff can spend more time with residents, "said Sixten Rahlff, architect and managing partner of 3RW Arkitekter

Get close to nature
This design blends seamlessly with the beautiful scenery of Norway, providing a strong backdrop for nursing homes where you can feel a part of nature no matter where you are in the building.. All wards have direct access from public rooms to green outdoor spaces or large rooftop terraces with sensory gardens. Various outdoor spaces encourage residents and staff to use and seek entertainment within the campus in different ways.
