The Slope Shelter (SS) Garden project includes four shelters cleverly located at the top of a sunken layered garden in the bustling center of Jakarta's commercial district. These shelters are surrounded by a sloping green roofed garden that can accommodate diverse commercial activities.

The architect's vision is to explore spatial innovation by constructing minimalist structures that challenge the traditional capitalist model of commercial architecture. This method emphasizes achieving sustainability and energy conservation in sunken spaces, harmoniously coexisting with existing green spaces, thus presenting rich and diverse changes in enclosed spaces throughout the design.

When reimagining a prototype of a third space that blends nature, flexibility, and continuous evolution, RAD+ar Architects carefully crafted an experience that allows restaurant visitors to navigate through a winding multi axis space shaded by a wide green roof, avoiding the tropical heat of Indonesia. The green roof is designed to tilt backwards, creating additional setback and break surfaces that promote air circulation and connect the tree lined avenue in front with the city lake behind.
在重新构想一个融合自然、灵活多变且持续演进的第三空间原型时，RAD+ar 建筑事务所精心打造了一种体验，让餐厅访客能够在宽阔绿顶遮荫下的蜿蜒多轴空间中穿梭，躲避印度尼西亚的热带酷暑。绿顶设计为向后倾斜，形成额外的退台和断口，既促进了空气流通，又将前方的林荫大道与后方的城市湖泊相连。

The carefully arranged seating area is elevated above the garden structure, ensuring unobstructed views of the garden and water scenery. The roof serves as both a tunnel and a grand sunshade, providing multiple options for dynamic natural ventilation while ensuring that the surrounding natural landscape becomes the core of the building experience.
精心布置的座位区被抬高至花园结构之上，确保无遮挡地欣赏花园与水景。屋顶既作为隧道，又作为宏伟的遮阳棚，为动态自然通风提供了多种选择，同时确保周围自然景观成为建筑体验的核心。

The project is conceptually based on protecting the last piece of land facing the lake, preventing it from being transformed into a typical shophouse that does not support sustainable commercial garden models. A series of concentric spaces were designed around the central area, which serves as the heart of the project and a gathering point for community activities.
该项目在概念上立足于保护最后一块面向湖泊的土地，防止其被改造成不支持商业花园可持续模式的典型店屋。设计围绕中央区域布置了一系列同心空间，该区域作为项目的心脏地带，也是社区活动的聚集点。

The winding sunken space begins at the ground entrance and seamlessly blends with the sloping terrain, leaving a deep impression on the sculptural architecture. A wide passage extends from the drop off area to create a sense of enclosure for the reception and bar areas. Guests are welcomed into an intimate transitional space, which leads to the lobby illuminated by skylights. The lobby guides visitors to the main area and spacious inner courtyard. In restaurants and bars, the towering curved ceilings gradually narrow towards the landscape, naturally directing the view towards the lake. When visitors enter the inner courtyard, they will be surrounded by the vast sunken space, bringing a profound sensory experience.
蜿蜒的下沉空间始于地面入口，与倾斜地形完美融合，使雕塑般的建筑给人留下深刻印象。从落客区延伸出一条宽阔的通道，为接待区和酒吧区营造出一种围合感。宾客被迎入一个亲密的过渡空间，进而进入由天窗采光的大堂，大堂引导访客前往主要区域和宽敞的内院。在餐厅和酒吧内，高耸的弧形天花板逐渐向景观方向收窄，自然地将视线引向湖泊。当访客步入内院时，会被下沉空间的广阔所包围，带来深刻的感官体验。

The concept of immersive experience originates from creating a private and intense atmosphere, cultivating a deep sense of harmony with the surrounding environment, and encouraging people to contemplate. The inspiration for 'Sinking Land' comes from traditional Indonesian garden elements, such as the central garden as a natural anchor point, which echoes the Western concept of caves. This journey through space and time is reminiscent of an aerial garden, ultimately presenting a sunken courtyard design.
下沉体验的概念源于创造一个既私密又强烈的氛围，培养与周围环境的深度和谐感，并鼓励人们沉思。“下沉之地”的灵感源自印度尼西亚传统花园元素，如作为自然锚点的中央花园，与西方的洞穴理念相呼应。这段穿越空间与时间的旅程让人联想到空中花园，最终呈现出一个下沉式庭院的设计。

The entire project has been meticulously laid out in both the ground and upper levels, providing a 360 degree panoramic view of the cantilevered shelter space, overlooking the bustling tree lined avenue and tranquil river. The designated areas for various temporary purposes have enhanced the flexibility of the project. The result is a clever combination of striking terrain distortion and enhanced three-dimensional sense, allowing visitors to feel the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The semi transparent ceiling blends seamlessly with vibrant vegetation, inviting people to explore a rich microcosm filled with pocket landscapes designed for reflection, relaxation, and fun interaction.
整个项目在地面和上层空间进行了周密的布局，使悬挑的庇护所空间提供 360 度全景视野，将繁华的林荫大道与宁静的河流尽收眼底。为各种临时用途指定的区域增强了项目的灵活性。其结果是一种引人注目的地形扭曲与三维感增强的巧妙结合，让访客感受到室内外空间的无缝连接。半透明的天花板与生机勃勃的植被融为一体，邀请人们探索一个充满口袋景观的丰富微观世界，这些景观专为反思、放松和趣味互动而设计。

Architecture should not compete with the landscape, but interact with it, sometimes seamlessly integrating into the surrounding environment, and sometimes allowing nature to dominate. Nature surrounds the building from all directions, even up the slope, creating a natural garden on the roof and providing a broad view of the entire area. Every aspect of the design prioritizes unobstructed visibility, ensuring a panoramic extension of the arched shelter space prototype along the coastline, with large areas of glass overlooking the city lake.
建筑不应与景观争辉，而应与之互动，有时无缝融入周围环境，有时则让自然占据主导地位。自然从四面八方环绕着建筑，甚至沿坡而上，在屋顶上创造出自然花园，提供整个区域的广阔视野。设计的每一方面都优先考虑无遮挡的视线，确保拱形庇护所空间原型沿岸线全景延伸，设有大面积玻璃，可俯瞰城市湖泊。
