We have received a commission to design a standalone residential building in a geographically advantageous area of Osaka City. Large buildings such as apartments are allowed to be built around the area, so the issue of visual interference from neighboring houses cannot be ignored.

The client hopes that space design will not be limited to standard floor plans, so we have decided to propose a design scheme that allows people to enjoy impressive sky views in the city center. In order to allow light to penetrate deep into the center of the building, we propose installing a circular skylight with a view of the sky and arranging a spiral staircase around it.

Climbing up the spiral staircase, you will find a series of staggered rooms stacked step by step. During the process of climbing spiral stairs, people will see rooms stacked in a staggered manner and lifted step by step.

The spiral staircase leads to the living room, which is connected to the workspace on the mezzanine through the staircase. By connecting all floors through a spiral staircase, we have created a space that is enjoyable for people to shuttle and move around.
