The concept of this project originates from rethinking the issue of social integration in high-density buildings, aiming to explore new forms of vertical community life. Prior to project development, there were few precedents in Chile regarding this issue, particularly the practice of using elevators as the core of community life organizations. The key issue is how to promote neighborly closeness and community belonging in vertical structures, while avoiding interpersonal alienation caused by high density.

The solution adopted is to arrange three buildings of different heights and enclose a large central courtyard as a public activity space. This layout not only promotes interaction among residents, but also optimizes visibility, human scale perception in the courtyard, and lighting conditions in apartments and public areas. In addition, the lower building volume allows the tower to have a better ground facing landscape layout, strengthening its connection with the surrounding environment. The corners of the architectural complex are designed as core nodes, with entrances and commercial spaces, enhancing the connectivity between the buildings and the surrounding community.

One of the most innovative designs of the project is the layout of the elevator shaft, which is located at the center of each floor. This layout shortens the length of the corridor, so that the maximum number of households connected on each floor does not exceed eight. In this way, it not only enhances the sense of closeness between neighbors, but also avoids the common sense of crowding in high-rise buildings.

Social integration is not only reflected in residential layout, but also integrated into exterior design. The building facade adopts a unified architectural language, avoiding visual differentiation between middle and high-income groups and disadvantaged groups. The project also prioritizes the convenience of walking, reduces the impact of vehicles, and promotes social interaction through internal path design.

In terms of sustainability, the project adopts passive strategies such as sunshades and double-layer glass windows to optimize energy utilization and enhance the thermal comfort of the residence. In addition, barrier free access is a key element in project development, ensuring that all residents can fully enjoy public spaces.
