场地与布局的巧妙应对：Yal Living项目最令人印象深刻的在于其对狭长场地的巧妙应对和对当地法规的尊重。考虑到场地条件、周边建筑的阻碍以及有限的建筑高度，设计团队没有采用传统的住宅布局，而是选择了水平层次的组织方式。这种策略不仅最大限度地利用了海景资源，确保了大多数住宅都能拥有开阔的视野，也通过错层布局和通道设计，解决了采光通风问题，同时创造了丰富的空间层次。打破封闭的楼块模式，利用通道分隔与邻居的区域，更体现了设计团队的创新性和对当地环境的深刻理解。

功能与空间的精心组织：项目在功能布局上展现了高度的规划性和对居住舒适度的关注。通过在三个层面上布置不同类型的住宅，并巧妙地穿插公共和私人的绿色空间，营造出丰富的居住体验。共享服务设施的分布，例如游泳池和健身房，则促进了社区的互动。地下室的停车和服务设施也提升了居住的便利性。更为值得称赞的是，面向海滩的单元可以直接从一层花园进入沙滩，这种设计将建筑与自然环境紧密联系起来，为居民创造了独特的居住享受，充分体现了设计对细节的关注。

材质与光影的和谐统一：项目的建筑语言简洁而富有特色，其材质的选择与运用是其亮点之一。红色调的砖块外墙与室内白色陶瓷的对比，不仅在视觉上形成了强烈的冲击，也赋予了建筑独特的个性。更重要的是，建筑中曲线元素的使用，巧妙地解决了遮阳问题，提高了居住的舒适度。同时，曲线元素与光线的相互作用，营造出丰富的光影效果，使建筑在不同的时间段呈现出不同的魅力，也为内部的通道空间提供了充足的采光，体现了设计师对光影、材质、和功能之间关系的深刻理解，赋予了建筑生命力。

From the architect. Yal Living is a residential complex located on a narrow plot of land, designed to offer sea views to most residences, with the narrowest exterior walls parallel to the beach. Due to strict local planning regulations that only allow the construction of three story buildings, the design team chose a horizontal layout, arranging the residential and landscape in a hierarchical manner.

Due to the obstacles caused by adjacent buildings to the south and north, as well as the inability to ensure external visibility, traditional residential building models (i.e. residences located on the outside with internal passages) are not suitable. After trying various design schemes, the design team broke the closed block pattern and decided to use the passage as a separating element between the southern neighbor (also the area most affected by Kuwait's arid climate). All rooms in each residential unit face north and are arranged in a staggered layout. The living room occupies a corner position and offers a view of the sea.
由于南面和北面相邻建筑造成的障碍，以及无法保证外部视野，传统的住宅楼模型（即住宅位于外部，内部设有通道）并不适用。经过多种设计方案的尝试，设计团队打破了封闭的楼块模式，决定利用通道作为与南侧邻居（也是受科威特干旱气候影响最大的区域）之间的分隔元素。每户住宅的所有房间都朝北，且呈错层布置，客厅占据角落位置，可欣赏海景。

The design team arranged different types of residences on three levels and created different outdoor public or private green spaces, with shared service facilities (such as swimming pools or gyms) distributed around these spaces. The basement is used for parking and service facilities. The unit facing the beach can directly enter the beach from its first floor garden.
设计团队在三个层面上安排了不同类型的住宅，并创建了不同的户外公共或私人绿色空间，共享服务设施（如游泳池或健身房）围绕这些空间分布。地下室用于停车和服务设施。面朝海滩的单元可从其一层花园直接进入海滩。

The material quality of this project is reflected in the curved elements, which can provide shading effects for openings and windows. At the same time, the exterior walls of the building are made of red toned bricks, forming a sharp contrast with the white ceramics used in the interior space, providing sufficient lighting for all passage spaces.
该项目的材质品质体现在曲线元素上，这些元素可为开口和窗户提供遮阳效果，同时，建筑外墙采用红色调的砖块，与室内空间使用的白色陶瓷形成鲜明对比，为所有通道空间提供了充足的光照。
