From the architect. At the end of 2023, the small courtyard on Nanchang Road suddenly became crowded. After the contract expired, we found a place on the outskirts of the city as a new office space for Dazhou Building.
来自建筑师。23 年底的时候,南昌路的小院子突然拥挤了起来,合同到期后,我们就在城市的外围寻了个地方,作为大舟建筑新的办公空间。

Nomads
The studio has changed several locations over the years, and sometimes I feel like we are nomads in the city, wandering to places with more abundant water and grass and more suitable rent every once in a while.. Every time we change places, it takes some time to establish connections with the new space. I think it's better to design more objects and less space this time. On the one hand, it saves a lot of budget, and on the other hand, these furniture with our usage habits will accompany us to the next place.
游牧民
工作室这些年换了几个地点,我有时候感觉我们像是城市中的游牧民,每隔一段时间就要游荡到水草更丰沛,租金更合适的地方去。每每换地方,又需要一定的时间,来跟新的空间建立连接。我想,这次不如多设计物件,少设计空间,一来节约了不少预算,二来这些带着我们使用习惯的家具,会陪伴我们去往下个地方。

于是我们保持了空间原有的状态,仅仅凿开梁柱和墙壁,挂上金属板,铺好地面,设计了空间中所有的家具和灯具,一切就大功告成了。

Work Area
The new studio is divided into two spaces, one for work and one for experiments.. What is the ideal working environment like? I hope the space is higher and the lighting is sufficient. I hope to work in a large space, sit together, and have high communication efficiency. We use furniture to weakly separate three areas, creating a continuous and crowded space. I hope to have fewer meetings and move the conference room to the almost unused attic.
工作区
新的工作室分了两个空间,一个用于工作,一个用于实验。理想中的工作环境是什么样的呢?希望空间高一点,光线充足。希望在一个大空间里工作,聚坐在一起,沟通效率也高。我们用家具弱分隔三个区域,空间连续而拥挤。希望少开会,把会议室甩到几乎用不到的阁楼上去。

The never finished experimental area
The studio often conducts material experiments and proportional mock ups. A multifunctional large space is very important to us, and it can even be said that we rented this studio for this experimental field..
永不完工的试验区
工作室经常会做材料实验和等比例 mockup,一个多功能的大空间对我们十分重要,甚至可以说,是为了这个试验场才租了这个工作室。

We weakly enclosed an area with curtains, and the contents inside were constantly dismantled and rebuilt according to the project. If we had free time, we would do some interesting material experiments, pour some concrete, and lay bricks. You can also organize activities inside, such as eating hotpot or giving lectures. Rough forms make space more relaxed and allow us to make mistakes.
我们用帘子弱弱地围合了一个区域,里面的内容根据项目不停地拆了又建,如果闲下来,就做点有意思的材料实验,浇点混凝土,砌砌砖。更可以在里面组织活动,吃火锅或者搞讲座。粗糙的形式让空间更加放松,它准许我们犯错。

Not overnight
The pinnacle of most designs is at the moment it is completed, and then it continues to decline.. We don't really like this situation, we hope the studio can be saved up with time and gradually become the ideal shape.
不一蹴而就
大多设计的最巅峰在它刚完成的一刻,之后就在不停地走下坡路。我们却不太喜欢这种状况,我们希望工作室被时间攒就,一点点变成理想中的样子。

After a year, this humble abode gradually became fuller and even felt a bit like a home. Marc Auge said that the space of tourists is the prototype of non locality. I think this space can ultimately serve as a kind of confrontation against non locality, as well as a reflection on our excessive possession and decoration in consumerism. After all, 'Si is a humble abode, but I am virtuous and virtuous.'.
一年之后,这个陋室逐渐饱满起来,变得甚至有点像个家。 Marc Auge 说游人的空间是非地点的原型,我想这个空间终究能作为我们对非地点的某种对抗,也能作为我们对消费主义中过度拥有和过度装饰的反思。毕竟,“斯是陋室,惟吾德馨”。
