Dom Ino used to be a neoclassical style villa - it was part of a sprawling "wall" that separated the community from the Saigon River. Now Dom Ino has transformed into an open architecture, where buildings, rivers, and people can reconnect. The project removed heavy walls and partitions, transforming a closed and isolated house into a transparent and multifunctional space, where daily activities unfold in the midst of sunlight, breeze, and greenery.

The building has been redesigned around three key elements: open floor slabs, lightweight frames, and sloping terraces - a localized reinterpretation of the Le Corbusier Dom ino system. At the corner facing the river, the slightly curved roof evokes the style of traditional public buildings. The rattan cladding weakens the cold and hard feeling of the steel frame and brings a tactile contrast, making it appear softer. A striking blue spiral staircase becomes the artistic core of this space, guiding people to shuttle between different functional areas such as cafes, exhibition areas, and co working areas.

The building is located on fertile riverfront land, where the vegetation is preserved and continues to grow vigorously, spreading under the eaves, forming patches of shade that block the hot sunlight and enrich the spatial rhythm. Dom Ino is our way of retelling a story that was once interrupted - a story not only about architecture and nature, but also about the connection between people and the rivers that have long shaped their lives.
