Can architecture integrate into the landscape and lead us back to nature? On a field that was once untouched by human hands but now scarred by human intervention, this issue became our starting point. We did not impose forms on the damaged terrain, but chose to listen: to listen to the yellow brown soil, the tranquil reservoir, and the lush Gao'en Mountain in the background of the mountains. Here, architecture is not meant to stand out, but to coexist with the land - to form a gentle path that allows nature and humanity to meet again.

The venue is located in a Hanwu village in Weiju County, Ulsan Metropolitan City, South Korea, nestled at the foot of Mount Go'en, which belongs to the Lingnan Alps. At first, due to strict development regulations, this land remained unchanged for many years. But with the construction of the neighboring Hanwu village on the north side, the site was suddenly cut off by a sturdy stone wall, and its natural hill outline was also flattened. After the lifting of building restrictions, the site has been abandoned - the terrain has been erased, the soil is exposed, and the landscape is fragmented. However, when we visited, the adjacent Gaolan Cave pond reflected the warm autumn colors on the mountain, demonstrating the resilience of nature's tranquility under the scars. We did not interpret the site from the perspective of the city, but chose to trace the flow of time in nature. Our goal is to create a space where human life and nature can coexist and interact once again.

The first step is to restore the land. The western part of the site has been lowered to reconnect with the reservoir and form a gentle slope towards the eastern road. Introduced local trees, stones, and water elements to evoke memories of the primitive forest. The architecture follows this concept - conceived as an 80 meter long forest path connecting the entrance and the water's edge. The caf é space, lounge area, and atrium are quietly embedded along this route, blurring the boundaries between the building and the natural environment.

Three open courtyards blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, guiding visitors to contemplate in a slow paced ten minute walk. The coffee shop implements limited flow operation, providing a peaceful and immersive experience. The menu is inspired by natural elements such as wood, stone, and water, enhancing sensory interaction with the landscape.

To enhance this experience, the presence of buildings is minimized as much as possible. The 28mm thick curved glass exterior wall brings maximum transparency, requiring technical solutions in structural design, insulation, and installation. The stainless steel eaves extend along the curves of the building, regulating sunlight and enhancing the flow of form. Multi level eaves and roof greening combine structure with ecology, while prefabricated metal components simplify construction and improve accuracy. MIGIUI means "unknown" in Korean, representing the space between architecture and nature, stillness and existence. It invites tourists to embark on a quiet journey of rediscovery - not only to rediscover this land, but also to rediscover themselves.
