Sea and river, freshwater and saltwater. In the Sabiaguaba area of Fortaleza, the confluence of rivers and the sea forms one of the city's most unique landscapes. The traditional family of Sabiaguaba, who have long advocated for the construction of a food center to harness the tourism and landscape potential of the region, protect local flora and fauna, and create employment opportunities and income for the indigenous people (who take pride in their identity labels), are guarding this natural beauty.

Through the unremitting efforts of the community, the Sabiaguaba Environment and Food Complex has emerged. The building is located along the Coc ó River, near its mouth, and features a simple semi underground geometric structure that utilizes the steep slope of the land while ensuring that people can enjoy this unique scenery without barriers.

After arriving, tourists will see a square/observation deck on the upper level, which features a garden area and benches for contemplation. Although the competition for the most beautiful sunset spot in Fortaleza is exceptionally fierce, we can confidently say that this space within the culinary complex is highly favored by people.

Planta - Praça de acesso

Tourists can reach the first floor through ramps or stairs, where there is a large platform suspended above the natural terrain that can adapt to the tidal changes in the area and help restore local vegetation. In this area, there are 20 small pavilions used for preparing traditional Sabiaguaba cuisine. The operators of these pavilions are all members of indigenous communities, who use fresh fish, shellfish, and seafood to make traditional dishes such as steamed oysters, fish stew, coconut baio (a traditional Brazilian dish), and shellfish falafa (a traditional Brazilian snack).

From the beginning of the project, the visual integration of architecture and natural landscape has been a focus. Therefore, in addition to proposing the option of partially burying the building underground, there is also a preference for using materials with natural texture and durability, such as ecological wood, which is used for flooring and blinds - these two elements constitute the key elements of the building's appearance.

In order to maintain the vitality of the history, traditions, and culture of the Sabiaguaba family, it is proposed to establish a museum in the pavilion module. The Sabiaguaba Root Memory Center collects information about indigenous lifestyles, some of which are composed of cultural relics donated by local residents.

The proposal also includes promoting ecotourism by building a dock dedicated to passengers boarding and disembarking to experience the famous Koko River cruise. Naturally, this dock has also become a leisure space for swimmers, especially on weekends.
