This 112 square meter residence is designed for a family of six with three generations living together. The site is located at the end of a dead end road, surrounded by independent residential buildings. It is situated in a densely populated residential area by the seaside, with a bright and pleasant atmosphere. This project involves the reconstruction of the original residence (previously inhabited by grandparents) to create a new home for the whole family to live in: the younger generation of three living together with the older generation of three. A young couple runs a hair salon near their home, and their children spend most of their time with their grandparents. The older generation sometimes work from home and sometimes work in cities. These six family members have different lifestyles and complex relationships with each other.
这栋面积为 112 平方米的住宅是为三代同堂的六口之家设计的。场地位于一条尽端路的尽头，周边环绕着独立住宅，地处海滨一处建筑密集的住宅区，氛围明亮宜人。该项目涉及对原有住宅（此前由祖父母居住）进行重建，打造一座供全家居住的新居：年轻一代三人与年长一代三人同住。年轻夫妇在家附近经营一家美发沙龙，他们的孩子大部分时间都与祖父母相伴。年长一代则时而居家办公，时而进城工作。这六位家庭成员生活方式各异，彼此间的关系也错综复杂。

Our goal is to design a residence where everyone can find their own space to live in a way that suits them, while still comfortably spending time together. Our envisioned residence is like a group of fish - freely gathering and dispersing to form a loose yet tightly connected whole.
我们的目标是设计一座住宅，让每个人都能找到属于自己的空间，以适合自己的方式生活，同时仍能舒适地共度时光。我们设想中的住宅犹如一群鱼 —— 自由地聚散，形成一个松散却又紧密相连的整体。

The building structure is based on a grid layout, but some columns are deliberately omitted and beams are arranged in a staggered manner to create spatial coherence and unity. The entire residence consists of five and a half floors, connected by a vertical traffic line from the semi basement to the roof level. The visual differences caused by the height differences of each floor have created multiple small residential areas, and the boundaries between these areas have triggered physical activities such as sitting or leaning on the ground, jointly constructing rich and diverse living scenes.
建筑结构以网格布局为基础，但部分柱子被刻意省略，梁体错落布置，以此营造空间上的连贯性与统一感。整座住宅由五个半层构成，从半地下室到屋顶层，通过一条垂直交通动线相互连通。因各楼层高度差异而形成的视线落差，造就了多个小型居住区域，而这些区域间的界限则引发了诸如席地而坐或倚靠等身体活动，共同构筑出丰富多元的生活场景。

The spatial layout connects the gardens on the north and south sides, introducing a warm atmosphere of the surrounding community and a pleasant view of a small garden facing south. The first floor has a balcony and a large sliding door that leads to the front garden and seamlessly connects with the street. This has become a space for children and friends to freely shuttle indoors and outdoors, as well as a natural place for chatting and communicating with neighbors who take care of the garden.
空间布局将南北两侧的花园相连，引入周边社区的温馨氛围以及朝南小型花园的惬意景致。一楼设有阳台和大尺寸的滑动门，通向前侧花园，与街道无缝衔接。这里成为孩子与朋友自由穿梭于室内外的天地，也是与照料花园的邻居自然攀谈交流的场所。

The first floor has a dining area and various living functional areas. A large central dining table has become a multifunctional core area, integrating dining, learning, household chores, and even remote work, creating a space where various daily activities coexist harmoniously. The semi basement and third floor each have small rooms with an area of approximately 4.5 to 7.3 square meters. These rooms can be connected to other rooms or shared spaces through sliding doors and movable furniture, allowing residents to freely adjust the openness and privacy of the space. Therefore, this residence can adapt flexibly to changes in the occupants and their lifestyle.
一楼设有用餐区和各类生活功能区。中央的一张大型餐桌成为多功能核心区域，集用餐、学习、做家务乃至远程办公于一体，是各种日常活动节奏和谐共存的空间。半地下室和三楼分别设有面积约 4.5 至 7.3 平方米的小房间。这些房间可通过滑动门和可移动家具与其他房间或共享空间相连，让住户能够自由调节空间的开放程度与私密性。因此，这座住宅能够随着居住者及其生活方式的变化而灵活适应。

At the corners of the building, windows open in two directions to ensure that people can always enjoy the outdoor scenery while moving in the space. Natural light pours in from multiple angles, and gentle breezes travel through different paths, giving each space a unique atmosphere that changes with the passage of day, night, and seasons. This layout also helps to disperse the line of sight, allowing family members to maintain a comfortable distance even if they are in the same room. We hope that this residence can become a "school of fish" for a family of six - a warm home that is flexible and constantly evolving with changes in family and society.
在建筑的转角处，窗户朝两个方向开启，确保人们在空间中移动时，始终能欣赏到室外的景致。自然光从多个角度洒入，微风穿行于不同的路径，赋予每个空间独特的氛围，且随昼夜更迭与季节变换而变化。这种布局还有助于分散视线，让家庭成员之间即便同处一室，也能保持一种舒适的距离感。我们希望，这座住宅能成为六口之家的“鱼群之校” —— 一个灵活应变、随家庭与社会变迁而不断演进的温馨家园。
