The JUMP Building is a bridge connecting the pre pandemic era with the present era. The project was designed between 2017 and 2020 and constructed between 2020 and 2023. With the evolution of global crises in recent years, the project has also undergone corresponding adjustments, demonstrating resilience and ensuring adaptability to future challenges. Icade aims to create flexible, interconnected, and well lit office floors to ensure that the entire space is comfortable and easy to use. Their vision also includes an affordable hotel with 180 rooms, strategically located to add vitality to the 'People's Front Square'. The design brief emphasizes that buildings should be easy to operate and maintain, while demonstrating excellent energy efficiency.

The JUMP building is 30 meters high and covers an area of 45x90 meters. There are two west facing courtyards inside the building, with a garden that connects the green areas of the Place du Front Populaire and Parc Icade des Portes de Paris parks. These spaces provide entrances for offices and dining terraces. The five volumes on the east facade are distinguished by four grooves reflecting the sky. The transparent public pedestal exposes the garden and adjacent buildings, providing a visual connection between Rue de la Garance and Rue des Fillettes. On the north side is the hotel volume, and on the south side is the office volume, both rising from the park, forming a sharp contrast between the dense urban environment and lush greenery. The balcony on the top three floors breaks the stiffness of the facade. Retail spaces, lobbies, reception areas, restaurants, cafes, and terraces connect the building with public areas on the ground and roof, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

The architectural principles proposed by KAAN Architecten for JUMP Building are based on three key parameters: designing flexible spaces, minimizing the use of building materials, and ensuring structural robustness. The facade and core of the building are designed as load-bearing structures, without the need for additional support, creating an open column free indoor space. The east side adopts thin prestressed hollow floor slabs, allowing the building to span a width of 13 meters. There are three prominent volumes on the west side, each 19 meters thick, with a transportation core in the middle and office space or hotel rooms on both sides. The exterior wall grid on the office side has a solid section of 43 centimeters every 1.35 meters, providing flexibility for separating workspaces. Prefabricated concrete "T" shaped components form the structure and facade of the building, without the need for additional decoration. The 43 centimeter cross-section is horizontally arranged, hiding the floor structure and forming a unified grid throughout the comb like volume.

Anodized aluminum door and window frames come in various colors: hotels use copper to reflect their surrounding environment; The office adopts silver to create an aesthetic effect of aluminum and concrete in the same color tone. The door and window frames on one side of the street are hidden on the inside, enhancing the texture of the concrete. The door and window frames on one side of the garden atrium are flush with the facade, enhancing the excavation effect of the atrium. The glass and large-sized aluminum frames reflect the sky and ambient light. The client has set clear and ambitious goals from the beginning: to create a model project with low-carbon impact, high energy efficiency, and innovative solutions. KAAN Architecten has chosen low-carbon materials and integrated reusable components, reducing its carbon footprint by nearly 30% compared to the Carbon 1 threshold of the E+C label. The overall greenhouse gas emissions are 1124 kgCO2eq/m ², of which 842 kgCO2eq/m ² are attributed to building materials and energy consumption.

The energy consumption of the building has been carefully considered, and its penetration rate is extremely low, only 0.43 m ³/(h.m ²). The rhythm and thickness of the concrete grid, as well as the design and position of the door and window frames, jointly maintain the thermal balance and light balance of the building. Geothermal solutions further improve energy efficiency and have a low-carbon impact compared to electricity or gas solutions. The building has obtained multiple certifications including HQE B â timent Durable Excellent, BREEAM New Construction Excellent, E+C-level E2C1, and Label BBCA Performance, demonstrating its role as a sustainable, future oriented building solution and enriching its urban environment. These certifications demonstrate the success of KAAN Architecten's project in addressing today's environmental challenges, as well as its high performance in all major areas.
JUMP Building is not just a building; It is a forward-looking sustainable building solution aimed at connecting and enriching its urban environment. Its multifunctional design and commitment to sustainability make it a model for how architecture can develop and thrive, meeting current and future needs.
该建筑获得了包括 HQE Bâtiment Durable Excellent(可持续建筑优质认证)、BREEAM New Construction Excellent(新建建筑BREEAM优秀认证)、E+C- level E2C1(E+C标签E2C1级别)和 Label BBCA Performance(BBCA性能标签)在内的多项认证,体现了其作为可持续、面向未来的建筑解决方案,丰富了其城市环境。
