The Obeid Retail Complex is a modern commercial center located in the mountainous region of Lebanon, which houses a large local chain supermarket and effectively enhances the supermarket's public exposure and market coverage. The project adopts non-traditional architectural techniques and redefines the local retail experience. Since its opening, it has attracted numerous well-known brands to settle in, making the center an emerging commercial destination.
奥贝德零售综合体是黎巴嫩山区的一座现代商业中心，内设当地一家大型连锁超市，有效提升了该超市的公众曝光度与市场覆盖范围。该项目采用非传统建筑手法，重新定义了当地的零售体验，自开业以来已吸引众多知名品牌入驻，使该中心成为新兴的商业目的地。

This project integrates commercial and social spaces, featuring a three story supermarket, food court, and outdoor parking lot. The upper level is arranged with office areas and retail shops. Through careful planning, the smooth flow of people and unobstructed operation have been ensured, comprehensively enhancing functionality and overall experience. Clear and intuitive flow design allows users to navigate freely without any obstacles.
该项目融合了商业空间与社会空间，内设一座三层超市、美食广场及露天停车场。上层则布局办公区域与零售商铺。通过精心规划，确保了人流动线顺畅与运营无阻，全面提升了功能性与整体体验感。清晰直观的动线设计，让用户能够毫无阻碍地自如穿行。

The origin of this design concept stems from the idea of "casting a heterogeneous element" - to break the inherent pattern of the surrounding traditional regional style with a confident and clear architectural posture. The overhanging upper building protrudes forward, occupying a dominant position in the street landscape, while forming a sheltered entrance, creating a friendly and protected public space.
这一设计概念的起源源于“投下一枚异质元素”的构想 —— 以一种自信且明晰的建筑姿态，打破周边传统地域风貌的固有格局。悬挑而出的上层楼体向前突伸，在街道景观中占据主导地位，同时形成一处有遮蔽的入口，营造出友好且受保护的公共空间。

The exterior of the building cleverly balances the rugged industrial style with the delicate and refined texture. The geometric shape of the white aluminum plate skin, shaped by algorithmic logic, wraps around the building in a layered pattern, with alternating presentation of the solid and transparent parts. This dynamic facade design cleverly conceals the irregular functional layout inside, while subtly showcasing the vitality of the building's interior, achieving a perfect balance between privacy protection, shading, and ventilation.
建筑外立面巧妙地平衡了工业风格的粗犷与精致考究的细腻质感。由算法逻辑塑造的几何形白色铝板表皮，以层层叠叠的图案包裹建筑，实面与透空部分交替呈现。这一充满动感的立面设计，既巧妙隐藏了内部不规则的功能布局，又若隐若现地展现出建筑内部的生命力，在隐私保护、遮阳与通风之间实现了完美平衡。

The design and construction challenges of this project have had a profound impact on the presentation of the final results. The compact land use and narrow street interface prompted architects to adopt a vertical spatial layout and introduce cantilevered blocks to enhance the street's presence. In terms of structure, in order to reduce the number of columns in the hall, it is necessary to achieve large-span and cantilever floor design, which requires the use of advanced engineering technology - the use of special tensioning cables and high-precision concrete technology, breaking through the conventional boundaries of local construction.

The double layered facade incorporates sustainable concepts through designs such as insulation, ventilation, sun shading, and privacy protection. The cavity between the two layers stores heat and insulation in winter, promotes air circulation in summer, effectively reduces energy consumption, and decreases dependence on mechanical systems. The outer curtain wall can soften sunlight, reduce glare, and introduce natural light, ensuring indoor comfort and privacy while providing users with a framed view that complements the external landscape.

The Obeid retail complex showcases the transformative power of architectural design - creating impactful spatial presence under limited conditions, while writing a new chapter in the evolution of Lebanon's architectural environment.
