Located in the Western Ghats Mountains, Langnafla is the nearest and most popular weekend resort for Mumbai residents. Its natural terrain, cool and dry climate, lush scenery, and long history (ancient fortresses and Buddhist grotto temples) have attracted disorderly development, leading to severe erosion of its originally distinct features.

The Radisenlang Resort is facing fundamental contradictions caused by rapid urbanization in rural areas. The architectural forms created by the prescribed building codes and densities contradict the connectivity of natural open spaces.

The site is located in a residential neighborhood consisting of two plots separated by a planned passage that has been adopted by the project but cannot be constructed on it. The form of architecture originates from the site, terrain, and material history of the region (black basalt and wood), and adapts to the functional needs of flexibility and fixation (public and private).

In order to avoid the oppressive feeling brought by multi story buildings, the project has created an organic and free-form public space on the ground, connected by terrain of different elevations. The existing forms (such as gables/large stone walls) and stepped courtyards (water pits) add vitality to the architectural landscape. The room floor is suspended above the ground, like a bold abstract volume, with a permeable secondary wall with blinds. The ground rises vertically, forming a shaded courtyard. The organizational structure makes nature the protagonist and utilizes space, materials, and light to transform the experience of "architecture" into a journey through the ever-changing landscape.

In this project, the design team proposed a concept that abandons decoration and beautification, allowing natural building materials to play a role within the framework of meeting intensive functional requirements, prioritizing responses to location, memory, and climate rather than preconceived visual concepts. This is a significant innovation and breakthrough.
