Extraordinary in Ordinary- LIGHT UP Coffee Shop Xiabeize was originally a coffee shop and coffee roasting room with two seats on the first floor, and a storage room on the second floor.. Later, it was transformed into a store with 17 seats, extending the seating to the second floor. This is the third design project of LIGHT UP coffee shop, and the concept of the coffee shop originated from the owner's desire to make the barista's coffee experience more approachable and personalized. Its goal is to create a space where the extraordinary becomes a natural extension of daily life, with two floors providing two different experiences.

First Floor: Face to face communication with baristas - Located on a street corner adjacent to two streets, the trapezoidal layout of the building is fully utilized. A diagonal counter is set up in the center of the space, allowing customers to enjoy the scenery from three large windows facing the street. This design highlights the barista and allows customers to enjoy the coffee making process up close. The conversation between the barista and the customer naturally unfolds, while the window opening connects the caf é with the lively street scene outside. The counter and kitchen are made of structural plywood, following a coherent design language that treats the two elements equally, reflecting a simple and direct communication.

Second Floor: Respect Craftsmanship - In sharp contrast to the bright and vibrant atmosphere on the first floor, the second floor provides a quieter space where customers can focus on their coffee. LIGHT UP coffee shop emphasizes the craftsmanship at every stage from production to extraction. Inspired by this spirit of dedication, the design of the second floor reflects the artistry and precision of coffee making. At the center of the space is a large table, completed with Urushi finish technology, reminiscent of the gradient of latte art. The table reflects the interior decoration and the coffee cups placed on top, enhancing the special/unique coffee experience. In addition, artist Ben Nagaoka created artworks inspired by brand concepts and colors, further elevating the level of the space.
