The project is located in an eastern town in Quebec province. The client is a young couple who have been hoping to collaborate with architects for many years to achieve their vision of combining ecological architecture, health preservation, and unique vacation experiences.

For this couple, an important aspect of the project is to provide a universally accessible and high-quality rental cabin. Because renting a rural villa can be complicated for people with limited mobility or disabilities. Therefore, all channels, equipment, and furniture are designed to be accessible and safe for as many people as possible.

The couple themselves named the project "Selenite" in honor of this crystalline mineral, also known as "Moonstone," which is believed to have soothing properties. Like a holy land in the forest, it was decided in the early stages of the project to adopt a formal pure white appearance to enhance the concept of selenium feldspar and its serene quality. Due to symbolic significance and existing terrain conditions, the project adopts a square plan. This form not only makes the project more compact and allows for the rational allocation of major planning requirements, but also strengthens the concept of balance and harmony, which is an inherent characteristic of the project identity.

Therefore, this house appears as a 36 foot by 36 foot white cube with a sloping roof, as if two equal crystals were inverted from the central axis. Leaving the cabin, two prisms can be seen protruding from the surrounding bedrock. Each roof has a square skylight at its peak, emphasizing the concept of balance and symmetry. The living room and bathroom are two rooms with skylights, so the ceiling is higher, while the rest of the attic is cleverly used to store various mechanical equipment serving other facilities for users, enhancing their accommodation experience. Travelers can also use a complete smart home system that can control overall lighting synchronized with circadian rhythms and allow them to initiate guided meditation courses in any room.
