This 120 square meter residential building faces Santander Bay and has been fully renovated to create a space open to the city's sea view. This renovation began with an original residence built in 1932, which had an extremely enclosed layout with narrow corridors, cramped rooms, and a lack of natural lighting in the interior space.
这座 120 平方米的住宅面朝桑坦德湾，已全面翻新，打造成为一个向城市海景敞开的空间。此次改造始于一座始建于 1932 年的原始住宅，该住宅布局极为封闭，拥有狭长的走廊、狭小的房间，且室内空间缺乏自然采光。

The overall layout of the residence has been re planned, choosing to create a spacious, central, flexible and open space without hierarchical differentiation, which combines the functions of a kitchen, dining room, living area, and workspace. This public core area not only organizes the internal space of the residence in a reasonable way, but also extends outward, connecting the residence with the sea. Surrounding this core area, all bedrooms form a habitable circular space, with Santander Bay visible from the public area, creating a visual connection.
住宅的整体布局已重新规划，选择打造一个宽敞、中央且灵活开放、无等级区分的空间，这个空间兼具厨房、餐厅、起居区和工作区的功能。这一公共核心区域不仅对住宅内部空间进行了合理组织，还向外延伸，将住宅与大海相连通。围绕这一核心区域，所有卧室构成了一个可居住的环形空间，从公共区域便能望见桑坦德湾，形成视觉上的连接。

From a material perspective, the project is constructed with minimalist elements, using a color scheme that only includes a few materials to create a primitive and rustic aesthetic style. Blue - the iconic color of this city - is integrated into furniture and cabinet design, creating a color resonance with Santander city. In the damp areas of the residence (such as the kitchen, bathroom, etc.), simple white ceramic tiles are used, while continuous linen felt flooring seamlessly connects the floors of all rooms. This neutral tone blends with rough texture and primitive finishes (such as concrete in existing building structures) to create a peaceful atmosphere, forming a sharp contrast with the vibrant colors of the sea.
从材料角度来看，该项目采用极简的元素构建，运用仅包含少数几种材料的配色方案，营造出一种原始、质朴的美学风格。蓝色 —— 这座城市的标志性色彩 —— 被融入家具和橱柜设计中，与桑坦德市形成色彩上的呼应。在住宅的潮湿区域（如厨房、卫生间等），采用了简洁的白色陶瓷砖，而连续的亚麻油毡地板则以无缝衔接的方式统一了所有房间的地面。这种中性色调与粗糙的质感和原始的饰面（如现有建筑结构的混凝土）相融合，营造出一种宁静的氛围，与大海鲜艳的色彩形成鲜明对比。

The central space is designed as an open and flexible area that can adapt to different layout configurations over time, allowing the residence to evolve with the changing needs of residents. In contrast, the bathroom - traditionally a relatively inconspicuous space - has been transformed into a vibrant area, using vivid colors such as yellow and orange to highlight their vitality and energy.
中央空间被设计为一个开放且灵活的区域，能够随着时间的推移适应不同的布局配置，从而使住宅能够随着居住者需求的变化而演变。相比之下，浴室 —— 传统上较为不起眼的空间 —— 则被改造成了充满活力的区域，采用了黄色和橙色等鲜明的色调，凸显出它们的生机与活力。

This is a contemporary way of life that deviates from rigid, closed and segregated patterns. This house is conceived as a space open to multiple possibilities, where the boundaries between different functional areas become blurred and new lifestyles emerge: more flexible and social.
