From the architect. HRMTZ House is located on a complex plot in a canyon on the coast of Matanzas, offering incredible sea views. These two factors - gullies and landscapes - give the project unique geographical advantages.

The design team divided the entire project into two large blocks, which were interwoven through a "bridge" and slightly rotated. One of the blocks is elevated, allowing users to see a wide sea view, while the other block is set on a slope to minimize its impact on the landscape.

The building is entirely made of pine wood processed by the local sawmill, as pine wood has good performance and lightweight structure, which is a special requirement of the project. It needs to support a volume over 5 meters high to avoid disturbing the natural slope of the hillside where the stream passes, so that the best landscape can be enjoyed from above.

For the external cladding, pine wood is installed as a ventilated facade, which helps to cushion the effects of temperature changes inside the house. The terrace, barbecue area, master bedroom, and living room dining room that make up the passage are also made of pine wood, ensuring the durability of the space.

The barbecue area is located on sandy ground, obscured by the house itself, and the sea can be seen through the large windows. The entire public area, including the living room, dining room, kitchen, lounge, barbecue area, and terrace, is designed with sliding doors to give the space flexibility. The windows leading to the terrace and the windows in the barbecue area are arranged on both sides, allowing all spaces to be connected to each other.
