Redefining Nature and Healthy Living in Wanderlust Valley Hong Kong is renowned for its high housing prices, with a population density of approximately 7000 people per square kilometer, making it the fourth most densely populated city in the world. Against the backdrop of limited land resources and sustained population growth, Hong Kong continues to expand into its original rural areas, transforming them into prosperous urban centers surrounded by nature. Among them, Tuen Mun, located in the west, was one of the first new towns developed in the 1960s. Over the years, Tuen Mun has rapidly grown into a vibrant city with approximately 500000 residents.
在悠然谷（Wanderlust Valley）重新定义自然与健康生活

香港素以房价高昂著称，其城市人口密度高达每平方千米约 7000 人，是全球人口密度第四高的城市。在土地资源有限而人口持续增长的背景下，香港不断向原本的乡村地区拓展，将这些区域转变为被自然环绕的繁荣都市中心。其中，位于西部的屯门便是 20 世纪 60 年代首批开发的新市镇之一。多年来，屯门迅速成长为一座充满活力的城市，如今已拥有约 50 万居民。

Le Pont is a residential development project that seamlessly blends detached homes and apartments into the serene backdrop of the lush Dalan Mountains. These emerald green peaks are a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts and form part of the Dalan Country Park, which is renowned for its reservoir and Qiandao Lake - a unique landmark in the region. Inspired by the surrounding beautiful scenery, Le Pont's landscape design adopts the concept of "borrowing scenery", integrating the essence of the natural environment into the project, creating a seamless visual and experiential connection between architecture and landscape.

The design philosophy of Le Pont is deeply rooted in its surrounding environment - mountains, hiking trails, islands, and reservoirs - which come to life under the concept of 'Wanderlust Valley'. Every design detail has been carefully crafted to break through the spatial limitations of Hong Kong, using smooth lines and multi-level spaces to maximize practicality. At the same time, the project fully utilizes the abundant resources of the surrounding natural environment to ensure that residents can fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery within the residential area, providing an immersive experience as if they can enjoy the national park without leaving their homes.

One of the challenges of this project is the varied terrain of the site. Our design approach cleverly utilizes spatial dimensions, creating a dynamic interactive effect of varying elevation differences through cascading water features and sloping walkways with a gradient of 1:21 (a gentle slope for easy access), allowing people to smoothly reach the arrival hall (i.e. the entrance hall). In addition, the project has carefully arranged a series of pocket spaces scattered throughout, including rest areas, amusement parks, fitness areas, and barbecue terraces, to meet the diverse lifestyle needs of residents of all ages.

The highlight of Le Pont is its winding trail, which imitates the experience of mountain hiking. The green trees on both sides of the trail provide shade, and the dense vegetation forms a natural canopy. The carefully designed water scenery adds a lot of color to this trail, reminiscent of the cascading waterfall landscape inspired by Dalan Creek and its ever-changing tidal islands. This sensory experience oriented design amplifies the sense of tranquility, with the sound of flowing water relaxing the body and mind, establishing a profound connection with nature.

Le Pont also features an interconnected aerial corridor that connects all buildings at the rooftop level - a architectural feature that reflects the undulating flow of mountain ridges. Like climbing to the summit, this elevated walkway provides residents with an unparalleled panoramic view of the skyline and surrounding greenery. Complementing this experience, the design inspiration for the forest pavilion and tea pavilion comes from traditional mountain rest stations, providing residents with a secluded resting place where they can relax while enjoying unobstructed scenery.

Le Pont's plant configuration strategy adheres to the subtropical forest concept, combining local plant varieties with seasonal flowering plants to create a dynamic visual picture that changes with the seasons while ensuring sustainable growth. By carefully selecting vegetation suitable for Hong Kong's climate, this landscape design not only enhances ecological resilience but also radiates vitality and beauty.
